I had a chance to smoke this lil smoke today on the drive into the office. I figured I'd better stop taking pictures while driving, so this is the best I can do.
This smoke was absolutely stunning for the 40 minute drive into the office. By the time I walked to the elevator well in the garage, I had smoked this guy all the way down to the nub where it was burning my fingers.
The smoke had everything you'd expect from a Bolivar smoke. It was woody with notes of new leather and fruity finish. The smoke is a demi corona, otherwise known as a minuto smoke. The size is 4 3/8 x 42 and the wrapper was dark caramel color. The nose was sweet and tangy and had a peppery prelight draw. Upon light, the first puffs were spicy that quickly faded into that distinct Bolivar flavor.
The first 2/3 were highly complex and filled with thick smoke that I'm sure the people on the freeway got a wiff of as I drove along. It started of a medium bodied smoke. Little did they know, many were smelling their first cuban. The last 1/3 layed down into a more full bodied smoke with a pure bolivar flavor. There weren't any real changes until I got down to an inch where I noticed there was a little bitterness. A quick light purge brought the flavors back and smacked me with cream, cedar, nuts, and new leather.
Damn this was a great smoke. It has dethrowned my favorite commute smoke.
My top 3 commute smokes are now:
Bolivar Coronas Junior
HdM Petit Robuso
Illusione 68
If you get a chance for a smoke that you need to finish in under an hour, this is the smoke for you.
I paired this smoke with of all things, a tall glass of mountain dew on ice.
