Setting the stage:
Funny thing: I grew up in a little town by the name of Bolivar, NY. Little being the key word. I'll try not to let this cloud my judgement.
Anyway, this is a good smoke. I'm sitting on my patio curteousy of a nice wireless connection (that my job paid for, mind you), puffing away on this gentle giant. I'm approx. 2.5 sheets to the wind curteousy of three nice Kolschs' and two margaritas made from the best damn tequila I've ever had. A buddy of mine mixed up a batch, bought a charred oak cask, and let it sit for a year. Damn fine! I've got some ketchup on my hands from the three Zweigle's Hotdogs I just ate (no utensils) and life is looking OK. For reference, Zweigle's are a Rochester, NY phenomenon. They are white hot dogs. What makes this even more fun is that I'm in Seattle, WA. Hotdogs travel fairly well.
The 00' Gigante is a nice smoke. It's mild to lightly medium bodied w/ a nice little twang to it. I don't know what the hell a twang is, but Moki likes to describe the signature Cuban taste as this so I'll run w/ it. Since everyone thinks he's smart, how can I go wrong? :sign:
Not too harsh on the draw and good construction w/ a leathery, shiney wrapper. Produces a good share of smoke, even though the damn wind is blowing.
I'm a little lost on the Gigante thing. Gigante = Biiiiiig. This cigar is only big w/ one i. Those crazy Cubans.
All-in-all, I'd say this cigar falls under my very good category. Not the best I've had to date, but very good. It's also nice to know there's a good chance your Bolivar isn't fake. The rat-bastard counterfeiters like to stick to the Cohibas and Monte's
Chreest! I need another margarita. Game on!
