She says it's because "I'm the best and deserve it."

In the interest of marital peace and harmony I don't have the heart to argue with her.
Funny, she is actually the one that got me back into cigars. She loves the aroma...get's her frisky

And now she can't stand watching me digging thru either my 96 qt or 54 qt Sterilite-dor (both full), so here it comes!! Anyone else have one? Curious what you think. deliev

My fiance also loves the humi aroma, she even says shes proud of me I have that unusuall new hobby. She loves watching me when I have fun with my stick... um with my stick, cigars I mean! She also like to watch them herself a try if they fit between her fingers and pretend smoking. Shes sweet!

Um... You were talking something about a humi?

oh yeah, that!

It's the only one I've seen that not only claims to hold a bunch of sticks but also makes sense in our living room. Pretty much goes with the decor and there is a perfect place for it. Does anyone else here have one? I've read good reviews but would like to hear some real-world experiences.

Good lookin' humi, it's the one I'd get if I were allowed such a beast, hehe.

Grats.

This bad boy? It a good-lookin' humi... :)

yep, that's the one!!
I'm really excited and it's gonna look great where I put it. Now I doubt it will REALLY hold 1500 cigars, unless I stack them wall to wall and floor to ceiling, but it should comfortable handle my 700-some and give me some room to grow.
Gotta admit I am most nervous about how it seals, but from what I've read it should be ok. I sure hope so.

ooops almost forgot to report back in. This bad boy got delivered on Friday (early) 12/15/06...about 1 hour before I had to go to airport and fly to Seattle for business. Of course all familial activities stopped while I unpacked, inspected and repositioned the newest member of our family. As I stepped back and looked at it I decided then and there that it is pretty enough to deserve it's own birthday!!
Anyway, I put a bowl of water in the bottom and a tray of water in the drawer, along with 2 hygros. Monday I talked to the wife and she reported both hygros reading 70%. I figured why not, and had here remove the water but leave the hygros and seal it up with my two 1/2 lb trays of 65%beads and don't open it. Well today I called and asked her to look and was really surprised to find the hygrometers were reading 67% bottom and 66% top.
Could it be that this is already stabilized? I'll be home on Friday to see but I was curious if anyone had any comments or suggestions. If it's still at 65% or better I'm thinking that I'll fill her up this weekend. All the sticks going in are at between 66% and 70% RH. Am I asking for trouble doing so this early? I know my Toscana 100ct took almost 2 weeks to stabilize.

Please advise

the kid that can't wait for Xmas

Man that thing seems to have stabilized quick. I have never had anything take less then two weeks but who knows. BTW - that thing is sexy, nice score!

Okay, Black Cloud, take the high road, don't be jealous. Don't be jealous.

Aw, dammit! Who am I kidding!?! Very nice humi!!

thanks Mark, she IS a good one. And I am also gonna make her day by telling her YOU said so!!

Blackcloud - thanks man, looking forward to it. Hey, saying you are from LA only narrows it down to about 7000 square mile area. Where you is?

Very nice cabinet and a very special woman! I've turned my girlfriend onto cigars with CAO Moontrances, Javas, and the like. Hopefully i can get her to graduate to real sticks soon. Enjoy that humi and post pics when its full!

I was thinking of getting the Montigue. I would be interested in a followup on how it does. Congrats and may you enjoy it for many years!!

well it's doing great - haven't got those pics yet though :sign:

Holds humidity like a champ. here is SoCal we've been having some wild humidity fluctuations...anywhere from 15%-25% for a week or so to 60%-80% for a week or more. I filled it with a pound of 65% beads and it's pretty much full of cigars and the humidity is always at 64%-66%.

It's taken a bit to figure out how I want to use it though. I have about 900 sticks in there and there's room for more with a little finagling. So as a humi it works GREAT!!! But based on using it for a month now here are the things that I would think about and/or like to see changed.....

It sits on the floor with legs that can bring it up a few inches, with a 6" tall drawer at the top. But this thing is 26" deep so the fact that it's on the floor can make reaching into the back/bottom a little tricky. You certainly need to get down on your knees for this. BUT this is pretty much my aging/holding area so i don't get back down there all that often. That bottom area has 2 adjustable shelves so the bottom storage is 24"W x 26"D x 16.5"H. The two shelves give me 3 platforms that are 5.5" tall. Sometimes I wonder about taking out the shelves so i can play a fancier game of box-tetris. You could also remove 1 of the shelves and end up with (2) 8" platforms.
It would have really been nice if these shelves had drawer sliders on them. I can't even simply add the sliders because the door opening is narrower that then cabinet interior. Oh well, now that I have my routine it's not a big deal.

The top drawer is a real benefit for this unit. I haven't counted but I'd have to guess it would hold 200 cigars or so. My only disappointment with the drawer is that it is NOT a full reach drawer. The cabinet is 26" deep inside but the drawer is only 16" deep. Now this I could remedy with some new sliders and a few pieces of thin Sp Cedar. But I doubt I'll do it. Likely I will just mount a shelf on the back of the drawer to hold my bead containers...getting them out of the cigar storage area.

Anyway, as you can see I have a few minor gripes, or comments, actually. But this is to be expected when you get "furniture" that you couldn't touch before buying. But overall this thing gets an "A". I would certainly buy it all over again, especially for my usage vs size vs price....it fits my house wonderfully, the wife is happy with it and it seals great. It really is a great looking piece of furniture, which was especially important now since this is the last piece of furniture that got brought into a freshly and totally redone living room. And I must say it's gonna be a great base for my pipe rack too!!!

But alas, it's still not enough. Day 1 I "almost" filled it up with my cigars (not counting the 150ct Indian Tabac desktop humidor). And used 70% beads at first thinking that the Monte would bleed humidity with the drawer and front doors. Boy was I wrong. It stayed right at 70% and I started to notice more burn and draw problems. So now I have converted back to 65% beads in the Monte and it is now plum full almost....and I have moved the 70% beads to the 120qt Tupperdor, which is itself almost full now...again!!. FINALLY lack of space has forced me to get my ordering under control.

Anyway - I'd recommend the Montegue for anyone that has need for a very nice looking endtable humi. It's not an Aristocrat-class work of art but for $500 it's a very good deal, there is nothing "cheap-looking" about it at all and it works wonderfully!!! :D

Hey all, I'm new to the board. This thread is actually what helped me find it. My Montegue will be arriving in about 6 hours. I'm stoked! I just wanted to post for the record that I got mine at CigarBid and ended up paying $311 plus $175 shipping. I've seen them on there before, so I assume they come up from time to time. I'll post on the condition when it arrives. Again, I'm not trying to "spam the board". I just spent a lot of time looking and they seem to be $525 everywhere else, with the same shipping. I did see one on ebay for $525 and it said $24 shipping, but I think they made a mistake because it's the only one out of dozens that I saw and I know you can't drop this 90 lb piece of furniture into a UPS envelope and "mail it". So, if you're cheap like me then you might keep an eye out for one on cigarbid.

aok

Nice Humi mate.
This the one I want to top of my Humi collection. We have it down here for Au$1500 which is a pretty good price considering the capacity.
Is it made from solid wood and ceder lined or is it made with MDF(Medium density fiberboard),then ceder lined.
I look forward to seeing some photos of it with cigars in place bro :D
