I only really have knowledge in Cuban cigars so I don't know what is good non Cuban cigar. I had flavoured Phillies before because they were at my local convenience store, but haven't tried anything else. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Holy shamwow batman... uh where to start.

How did the Phillies compare the the cubans?

There are many great NC cigars out there today; many brands to choose from as well. The Padron anniversary series are fantastic cigars. Tatuaje Brown labels are great. A. Fuente Opus X are good. There are many great brands and blends to chose from. The quality of NC cigar industry is on pace the the CC industry; you just need to find a vitola that fits your taste. Good luck.

The Phillies I got were Strawberry, Grape, and Chocolate. They tasted good but nothing of a real cigar taste. Just felt like I was smoking strawberries. I'll have to definitely check those out. Any other cheap good cigars? When I was in Cuba for a cheaper price but still good they said Romeo Y Jullietas so maybe something like that, cheaper than others but is similar to the quality of the higher end ones.

I see from your profile and intro post that you're in Canada. My understanding is that there ARE no "cheaper cigars" in Canada because of the taxes.

That said, if available to you, cigars that offer a LOT of quality for the $$$ in my regular rotation include Carlos Torano Exodus 1959, CAO La Traviata, Casa Magna Colorado, and just about anything from La Flor Dominicana's Double Ligero line.

If you are really here for knowledge, and not just to troll the forum, do a little reading on the many threads that already exist.

It's certainly looking like someone's on Mommy's computer, isn't it?

What are you talking about? For asking for cheaper but still good NC I am considered a troll?

Others were just adding humor, but MMM was simply putting it out there that if you are not a troll you might want to do a little searching on your own before posting questions that have been asked/answered hundreds of times.

Read and watch the links he gave you just now. If you're not a troll, but rather someone who is overeager to jump in with both feet and make friend or build a rep.....................Slow down, that comes with time and patience.

LOL . . . no, mostly for mentioning Phillie Blunts on a forum dedicated to premium handrolled cigars and obliviously asking about sources for Cuban cigars when 1. you say you live in Canada and have traveled to Cuba and 2. there's big red letters telling you NOT to do that.

But it's all in good fun. We keed, we keed, and all that.

Straightforward question, though: exactly how old are you?

I am overeager. Once I get interested in something I try and learn everything about it. And I was simply saying these are the only NC cigars I had which is why I was asking for the best NC. I know they aren't good, that is why I wanted to learn about other better kinds. And I am 17.

That's about what I figured . . . I'm a high school English teacher, so (obviously) I work with teenagers and know one when I see one. :D Not to be a buzzkill, but in the US tobacco is only legal if you're over 18, and I'm pretty sure that's how old you have to be for cigar forums as well, generally.

Might be best if you lurked, read, and learned until you're old enough to legally participate, so as not to risk any legal complications for Rod, the forum owner. It can only do you good, and I don't think many members here are likely to feel comfortable giving someone under smoking age, smoking advice.

But stay away from the Phillie Blunts. That shit'll kill ya.

Yeah I understand. I wasn't too fond of the Phillies. I prefer Monte Christos, Partagas, and Romeo Y Julietas.

Check out the Newbie Sampler Thread and be sure to tell them that you are not 18 yet.

Good luck with the hobby!

Why the **** would you direct someone not legally able to buy tobacco to one of the fine CP members in the NST? You need to engage your brain a little more before posting some stuff like this!

- Try anything. Having only had Phillies (ROTS Phillies at that) you can only get "better."

And I am 17.
- Expecting to jump straight to "the best NC"... I was pissed at age 14 when I wasn't banging super models, too.

Rod's stance :

Several months ago I decided to implement a 21+ age requirement. Doesn't seem to make much of a difference, so I'm removing this rule. Anyone is allowed to join CP as long as they meet the minimum age requirement to consume tobacco in the state which they reside.
