I did not have my otter box with me when I had an impromptu stop yesterday at JR Whipany to meet the crew. I could have easily bum a cigar off from one of the guys :whistling: but decided to get my own smoke.

I bought a Connie # 30 Maduro for a buck twenty-five plus tax. Good draw, nice pre-light flavor--hints of sweetness--with the only thing out of the ordinary was the wrapper having different shade of "maduro-ness"

From start to finish, this was an enjoayble smoke. Good construction with solid ash formation. The smoke was thick and flavorful as I swish around my tongue. Little tingle of spice, hints of coffee (not quite espresso) and a sweet finish that was not too over powering. I finished the smoke to the nub and bought another one. Same enjoyable experience--put me in the zone.

I ended up buying a bundle of the #30 and the #9 maduros. (This will even drop the price point lower)

I highly recommend this as a daily cigar but would not hesitate smoking this in the company of higher end cigars.

Edited to fix typos and and price point being lower for the bundle purchase.

I bought a bundle each of #9 maduro and #30 maduro about a month ago also. They're just sitting there waiting for my attention!

I always have a bundle or two of the #9 maduro Connies. A staple, especially for fair weather work smokes, but also just an enjoyable short smoke. Best cigar for a buck going out there IMHO.

I have the #9M's in my humi but I've never tried any other size...I just ordered #15M and #17M....anyone ever try these? (Sorry for the thread jack)

I usually have #25's in natural and maduro and when aged they are very good.

Always have a bundle of the No. 70 in the humidor. Get the occasional tight draw but for a buck a stick they're worth the risk.

Pretty solid consensus on Consuegra……….any other good $1.25 sticks?

I'm a fan of the #9 and always have a few on hand. I haven't smoked any in about a year, it's about time to pay them a visit again.

BTW: What's the hours of the Whippany Store? We're putting on a convention in Parsippany and I don't think it's too far from JR's. I'd like to stop in and check the place out.

Dice,

JR Whippany is very close to Parsippany. It opens at 11:00 to 9 or 10PM during the week. I am not sure about weekend hours.

Let me know when you'll be in town.
