CigarmanAndy generously sent me this after Kingantz' review of the Natural version of this size, the Corona Macho(4 5/8" x 48). Thank you Andy, I loved this cigar.
This Nic Puro has a very nice wrapper. Silky feel with barnyard odor and a dark brown color, much lighter than most maduros. One might think it was a natty but, having smoked the Nat Torpedo of this blend, I knew this was a different animal.
Tit on foot
Pre-light:
Taste was fruity and the draw firm but not tight.
1st third:
I started to light the ligero nipple that protrudes a centimeter from the foot and thought, "what the hell an I doing?", and clipped it off. (Sorry, Andy, it's not my kind of nipple.) Toasting the foot easily, I was pleased by the perfect draw. Initial flavor was of raisin and spice. This yielded to a Nic spice with a background of nuts and leather. Burn wandered a bit but needed no correction.
Slightly over-exposed pic
In the second third the spice deepened and the body got creamy. Reminds me of a Padron '64 maddie in both regards, flavor and body.
The nutty flavor fades and the spice dominates the second third.
Before the cigar I was treated to the sight and smell of this beautiful tulip!
Last third the flavor of nuts slowly started to compete more with the spice. The fruit at the beginning never came back. All in all, a very enjoyable cigar. Lots of flavor, good burn and draw, and a profile of a Nic Puro. My favorite!
I recommend this cigar. If you like the Nic Puro flavor profile you will enjoy it!
