The Gentlemen Scholar Stout is doesn't have a lot of hype but its really really good for the price. The Mirror Mirror and Stone VE 09 are great too. You are in for a treat.
Nice thanks Chico, because I never had it and picked up an extra for myself at the time.

Awesome box Mike! I've heard great things about the Just Outstanding and a bunch of the others are favorites of mine. Love the Petrus glass too!
The Outstanding is a pretty good IPA, IMHO, especially for $3.50 a 22oz'r. They fly off the shelf at my local.
I can check to see if the little German Deli down the street still has another Petrus Glass? ;)

I have not had any of these beers and the only one I have ever heard of is the Ten Fidy. Enjoying the Yakima Twilight right now, very good ale, slightly sweet full hops flavor. They all look so tasty! Love glassware, funny thing, I have drank Guinness for about 15 years. Sometimes in rural Iowa it is the most adventurous beer you can find so it's my go to beer when out. I have never purchased a Guinness glass before even though I have looked at the sets many different times but always figured I could spend the money on the beer instead. Thank you so much!

Who wants a box-o-beer?!?!
Glad you like the box. Sounded like you are more of a malt head so I tried to mix it up with some nice malty beers.
The Otter Creek has got a year on it, had one a few months back and it was pretty good. Also the Wee Heavy and Ten Fidy are from '08, Those are treats you will enjoy!
Mirror Mirror is probably one of my favorites, anything Deschutes and you can't go wrong!

Enjoy and Cheers!

The Yakima Twilight taught me to never judge a beer by it's labeling. If seen in the store I would probably pass it up for something more elegant looking on the shelf. I really enjoyed it and will be trying more beers in my area that before looked simply like a half serious brewery trying to make a buck. Lesson learned.

Jeff
A good resource is beeradvocate.com, just look at the reviews and you can tell if you might like it or not by just reading some fellow beer lovers reviews!

Anything sour would be awesome. Other than that I just want to try some regional stuff I can't get here.

Darin I have to say I love all the Terrapin and Sweetwaters brews you sent. I only have Gamma Ray and Fest Ale left. Hopsecution was really good!

I also liked the 420..it was a perfect session beer. If I had a case I would drink them all at once.

Glad to hear that. I don't want to make you too jealous but if you ever get to Atlanta Sweetwater and Terrapin have brewery tours with SAMPLES! Sweetwater is the best thing I have ever don3 (8 times...)It's $8, you get a glass and 6 drink tickets for samples. Wed-Sat 5:30-7:30pm. On Friday nights in the Summer they have live music out in their beer garden.

Packages re-found each other at some point apparently! Thanks for the great package Kuso!

The John's Ale is also brewed by Millstream, it's a brewery in the Amanas, a set of Amish colonies 10 miles out side of town. There aren't many breweries that sell commercially in Iowa so I got more of a Midwest selection . I wanted to get you a Jolly Pumpkin because you said you wanted something sour but they were out of it but I found the Monk's Cafe which is good.

I hope you like them, I was concerned about what to get you after seeing some of the great beers you send out.

Jeff

Drinking it right now actually, nice little wit.

I suppose I should probably ask the question, so who wants it?

John's Grocery is a really great store. Worth the stop if you find yourself driving across Iowa on I-80. Tons of glassware and a good selection of beer. Iowa City seems like a pretty cool town, but I love college towns.

How does one get on the list for this?

There is no "list". This is just like the "Wine & Liquor PIF" you are involved with in the main CP Saloon forum. Reply that you want it when the next person asks.

Given that you are pretty new I'd like to see how well you perform in the other PIF before you get involved in this one and have 2 of these at your place. Stick around, be patient, pay attention to how it's done and I'm sure you'll have the chance to get involved in this.

Just an update to let everyone know that Jeff handled himself very well in the wine & Liquor PIF. Sent a replacement set of cigars when the one stick was damaged in shipment even though I told him not to.

I'll take that biznizzle.

Alright Mick, I've got a couple things in mind for you. I'll have to dig through the cellar some too and see what I can find...
