hey guys,
Just got the heartfelt beads in, wow not bad for delivery thnx viper. Do the beads come dry or what state are they in as far as humidity level. I was thinking of charging them up by putting them right next to my oasis 2 humidifier so it can get charged that way. It might take awhile but i don't have a spray bottle on hand. Is that a good idea or bad idea.
thnx Mr Smoker

They come bone dry.

Good idea using the oasis to charge the beads.

I got mine this last weekend as well.

I just sprayed them with Distilled water like it says on his site.

Either make a pitstop at somewhere like Wal-Mart and pick yourself up a spray bottle (they have a fairly good selection) or the other way I would recommend charging the beads is to put them in a big ziplock bag along with a cup of distilled water. Make sure the bag is sealed and then let them sit for a few hours (depending on how many beads you have).

I just got my beads today from Viper and I placed the order towards the end of last week. Very quick shipping! Thanks!

I didn't have a spray bottle, so I used a Teaspoon to charge mine. Why can't you just dip the tube in a bowl briefly and then let the excess water fall off?

I got the 1/2 ounce tube and put them in a 40 count desktop humidor and the digital guage reads 65% (I ordered 65% beads!)

Dipping them would more than likely over saturate the beads. You want them to be able to absorb moisture, as well as provide it. This will allow for swings in humidity, and for the beads to keep it at a constant level. I usually try and keep them at about 30% white, 70% clear.

:)

Dipping them can sometimes cause the beads to crack since the distilled water is added so quickly. There are folks that have had siccess with this method though I don't recommend it.

As usual everyone gives good answers before I can even get here.

Well, ok I am hard on following directions. While I didn't dunk them in water, I did use the teaspoon. But I wasn't aware of leaving some of them white to absorb excess. So I used a Teaspoon until they were soaked.

And I could hear popping, which was probably beads cracking. I did read that they would still be ok, but now it is completely wet.

Should I leave it outside or on a table in the house to dry out again and start over by using the recommended 1-2 teaspooons or did I screw it up?

The completely wet is OK and they will survive, just be careful that there is not excess distilled water in the tube itself that may get on your smokes. Even though the beads cracked a bit it will not lessen the effectiveness of the beads.

something tells me that you dont really want to dip your beads in your bowels... that might ruin your cigars!

What do you guys do with your bottle? Do you mist inside your humi or outside the humi on the beads.

So far so good with the beads. When my temp was at 66F, the humidity was a perfect 70%. Now the temp went to 70F and its steady at 66% is that an indication to add water to the beads....

Only add water to the beads if you see the RH drop.... try not to let the temp get any higher than 70*...... Keep the humi closed for 24 hrs and see what the RH is..... and take it from there. Don't go crazy with the RH...... until you get the hang of it..... anywhere from 63 - 70 is good.......

What is funny is if you look at the original post, it says "bowl." Apparently editing others posts in quotes is fun.

After looking through the boards for the several weeks I've been here, it has become clear I need to get the beads. Beads ordered today, can't wait!

Holy thin skin... it's just jokes, get used to it if you are going to hang out around here.
