beads in humidor while seasoning?

Should I have my heartfelt beads in my humidor while seasoning? I have been doing this with distilled water on and off for almost 2 weeks and I can't keep a steady RH for more than a day without water. I am thinking maybe the beads are soaking up the extra water. Any advice?
