Beads as a Buffer?

Not being that familar with beads I had a question about them? Would they work well as a humidity buffer? What I was wandering was with small varations in temp inside the cabinet I know can cause flucations in humidity. If it lowers it no big deal the humidifier kicks on. If it raises it would beads absorb humidity over 70% If you were going to use them as such would you just slightly wet them then?

thanks

The beads work great for this. I currently have all of my cabinets and humidors in the basement where it can get a bit damper than I want. So, I have a tub of beads in each one that I do not wet. They help absorb some of the excess, when they need to. You do have to keep a good eye on it so that they don't take away too much of the good humidity. But, being a silica gel type bead, they work great for absorbing the "excess" humidty.
