Bought one of these from the local shop last week and just got around to smoking it last night.

Bauza Pyramid

5.25" x 48 Pyramid
Wrapper- Equador
Binder and filler- Dominican

I paid $9 for this stick, in lower tax areas it would be a $4 or $5 cigar.

Overall construction was very nice. Good color, no large veins, great smell.

Gave it a cut and the pre-light draw was perfect. Toasted it and lit up what was looking to be a nice smoke.

First third of the cigar was mild with some leather and wood notes. Very creamy style of smoke and smooth.

Middle gave some hints of sweetness along with the wood and leather tastes. Perhaps some nutmeg or cinnamon hints here and there. Strength built up to a nice medium body and stayed there for the rest of the smoke.

Final third was much like the middle. This stick did not turn on me and I nearly burnt my fingers taking it down to the nub.

The burn was perfect, no runs and no relights needed for this stick.

Overall I would say that this was a great way to relax after a few busy days at work. Starts off easy then works into a nice medium smoke with lots of flavor.

Think I would like to get a few more of these for the humidor.

I've read these are not as good as back in the day when CA rated them so highly (not that they're the be all to end all of taste)...apparently something changed in the construction/materials? I can't remember, but a FOG might be able to make some sense for me. Regardless, I think they're a pretty decent change of pace smoke and have a couple sitting in my ready-to-smoke humidor.
