Well I have not been able to smoke as much since I started my new job chasing criminals! Therefore, I decided I would make a weekend out of it and smoke some smokes I have been drooling over for a while. I have never had a Monti #2 isom and I had the priveledge of acquiring one from 3/03. I lit it up Friday night, and I really didn't enjoy it. :0 The flavor was kind of a dull tobacco taste all the way through. :(

Well I decided to make up for it by smoking my first shark on saturday! I have loved the few Anejos I have smoked so I figured the shark would be no different. Well, I had problems with this thing from the start! I cut it with my new xikar  and torched it with Razorback's Beetles zippo with a torch insert. I thought it couldn't have been any better. Well after I lit it, the burn just went ape shit on me. There had to be at least an inch to 1.5 inches difference on both sides of the cigar no matter how much I tried to touch it up. :( Since the burn was so bad I know the flavor just didn't come through for me. I was so depressed I had to light up a padron 64 just to get the taste out of my mouth!

All in all I was pretty let down with my weekend, even though I lit up some pretty nice sticks. Hopefully I will have the chance to try them again soon. Thanks for listening to me vent about my weekend, I bet I will make up for it this weekend! I just got a bundle of connies in today! :D

Wow, Brandon, you went 0-for-2 with a couple of typically fine cigars! I hope your next few attempts go much better!

Could it have been a humidity issue?
I am no expert on the issue but I have read that Fuentes and ISOMs generally smoke better a tad drier. Closer to 60%.
How fresh was your Shark? If you had picked it up recently it may be the cause of your problems. I find that fresh Fuentes always benefit from humi rest after purchase!
I had a Shark from Casa Fuente. Smoked it three weeks after purchase. It was not so good.

Better smoking in the future!

Dang...that sux bro. I'm sure you'll be giving them both another chance though.

That is the worse! I guess I will make sure mine stay in a little bit longer!

Unbeleivable.

Must be some storage issues.

Whats the RH of your humi?

:( If you could see me right now I am crying for you :(
That would be a very trimatic experience! Have you seen a doctor yet? :p

It could be a humidity issue, but I have a coolerdor with Viper's beads and a hygro that stays between 60-65%. I have been smoking many other cigars out of the same cooler and they are great. The shark was a little fresh, but I just couldn't wait. I probably had it in my cooler a couple to three weeks.

Thanks for your sympathy guys; I am still trying to get over it. I am trying to slowly work my way back to 100%. :D I will update you after the weekend!
