If you have ever had the pleasure of smoking one of these fine cigars they are truly a treasure. I have a box on order and I just received a 5 pack from Cbid on Thursday. Everything was fine until I lit up my 3rd A.F. and instantly I didn't taste the sweetness that comes with this cigar.
The Ash was rough. Like a Mag46 or similar. Usually the ash is tight and holds on for half the smoke but not this one.

The taste was so terrible I threw it away after a short time.

This was no Hemmingway although it looked and was rolled like one.

What should I do? Has anyone else run into this before?

Thanks - Rich

i had a short story last night, well i tried to. i took the celo off and the bad slid off and the entire wrapper came off...i tried the wipe and spit method, after 2 draws, i had to abandon ship.

I just sent Cbid an email I will update you all as I know something.

cbid customer service is excellent. they will make good.

You should have let those things rest before smoking 3 since Thursday.

How long do they have to rest? there made with 5 year old tabacco !

I'm just a cigar whore like everyone else and sometimes you just can't wait.

If these were 1926 Pad's I would have let them rest.

2 weeks

I can understand you wanting to let Cbid know that the sticks arrived damaged or didn't arrive at all. But asking them to refund money b/c the cigar didn't taste normal to you is another story. There could be lots of variables. Next time, try and let them rest and stabilize before smoking.

Excellent advice.

It isn't because the cigar just didn't taste right, There was something down right wrong.
If you let a piece of dog crap sit for 2 weeks it won't change the fact that its dog crap
I don't care how long I let that cigar sit it wasnt going to make it any better.
I can apprciate letting the cigar rest for a period of time, for instance I bought a box of WOAM and I didn't care for them to much until I let them rest for a few weeks now they taste much better.
I just didn't show any patience on this 5 pack and I probably should have/

ive had a few bad hemis. this is one of my fav lines. one in a box may have a bad draw, taste like crap, fall apart. REMEMBER --this is hand rolled by a human being, not god himself. that said, construction and taste are foulable....
ever had a really bad monday morning and just didnt wanna work?

imo dismiss and move on :D now if you get a whole BOX like this id really question the source you bought them from  my .02 cents

Ive never had a bad Hemi but yesterday I had a bad Padron 64, which has never happened to me before. OutlawD is right of course even though we cherish the high end cigars like and we pay enough that they should all be perfect sometimes they just aren't.

I'll beat CC to it :whistling: ....you meant God (caps)

After having my first ever FFOX burn like a wet turd, I have to agree with the sentiment that occasionally even a master torcedor can screw up a fine cigar...
