I think you should send one of them my way so I can test them for quality before you enjoy the rest! I can then offer you a better perspective on the gar in question.
If not, I understand :D
Good for you, enjoy your smokes!

I tried my first AVO (or at least first that I remember in recent history) the other day. I think it was a Domaine #10. I have to say it didn't do much for me. It started off very harsh.. Almost enough to cause me to put it out after just a few minutes. I kept at it though and eventually the flavor smoothed out and it wasn't bad. Not worth the pain of the first 15 minutes of smoking it though. Perhaps it was just that particular stick. I've got a signature and a legacy at home in the humidor which I'll give a try one of these days.

Anyway, to each there own. Congrats on your first box. It's all downhill from here. :0

Perhaps it was a little too wet. I find when I smoke wet cigars they are a tad bitter. I love AVO's, but for what ever reason I don't buy them. Perhaps it is because the price ratio is a little higher than others.

I'm a big fan of AVO and I have to say that the Signature series is the best although I haven't had a 77 or a 22 yet.

Ohhhhh boy do I love the 77's Just picked up a 5'er of them not tooo long ago. they are one of my fav's soooo far. Never had the pleasure to enjoy a 22 though. Damn I would love tooo though... I really want to also get a few of the AVO 75th anny's the are the same as the Signature series but more AGE...

Would that be the Legacy or something different?

I smoked a Legacy last week and enjoyed it. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to finish it so I'll just have to torch another :D . VERY limited release so if you end up liking them better buy them up while you can.

I have a 77 in the humi and will probably smoke it very soon but I haven't come across any 22s either.

I have a 3 Legacy smokes I wouldn't mind getting a box soon but...... other things must come first ya know... The Legacy smokes are different from all the other AVO line. The AVO 75's are the Signature Series. the 75's were so popular when they came out that AVO re-released them and called them the Signature Series.

Published: 10 March 2001. This month, the musician, composer, cigar connoisseur and cigar composer Avo Uvezian will celebrate his 75th birthday. For this occasion, a limited AVO 75th Anniversary Cigar in the classical Double Corona size has been created.

Avo Uvezian was born in Beirut on 22nd March 1926, and his musical successes led him to the Middle East and then to the USA, where he played with the great names in jazz of the fifties and sixties. Original compositions by this man with the melodious name were also highly successful in the world of jazz. The career of this globetrotter and enthusiastic cigar lover was to change rapidly when he met the world famous tobacco expert Hendrik Kelner in the Dominican Republic: the two cigar lovers and connoisseurs promptly joined forces. In 1988, AVO cigars were launched with great success in New York.

Avo Uvezian’s 75th birthday will also be celebrated in New York. The limited 75th Anniversary edition was created especially to commemorate this festive occasion. According to the company, the special blend of this cigar cannot be compared with any other AVO cigar in terms of strength and aroma. The exclusive “sun grown” wrapper leaf from Ecuador underwent multiple fermentation in the Dominican Republic. The blend is composed of leaf from four different areas of the Cibao valley. These four different cultivation areas correspond to Avo Uvezian’s four great talents: musician, composer, cigar connoisseur and cigar composer. The high proportion of Ligero tobacco gives the festive Double Corona format its robust flavour. It would not be an AVO, however, if its strength were not harmoniously balanced with its aroma. The elegant packaging for this birthday composition are the stylish cigar band and the refined box of ten cigars with the special AVO 75th Anniversary label.

Avo Uvezian believes that the quality of this cigar is a tribute to the craftsmanship of the rollers, or torcedores.

The AVO 75th Anniversary cigars will be available in April 2001, in specially designed elegant wooden boxes of 10.

Wrapper: sun grown leaf from Ecuador. Binder: San Vicente Ligero (Dominican). Filler: blend of San Vicente Ligero and Seco (from two different cultivation areas) Piloto Ligero (from two different cultivation areas) in the Dominican Republic.

Size: 178 cm/7 ins x 20mm/51.

Cool thing about the legacy boxes is that each one comes with a CD with a song that Avo is playing on piano. There are different songs and the bands of the cigars in each box are labeled with the name of the song on the CD that came with that box. Not sure how many different ones there are, but it makes it an interesting thing to collect. Of course, only worth it if you like the cigars.

I'm a big fan of the AVO ceagrs as you can tell. I picked up a box of the Signatures last December when Avo was performing down here at the Corona Cigar Company and he personnaly signed our CDs. Great smoke and perfect blend...... :D  :p
