Filler/Binder: Dominican Republic Wrapper: Conn.

The construction was pretty good. Couple of minor blemishes on the wrapper Nice veins running through it. The wrapper was dark and a little oily. Prelight aroma was pleasant. The clip was clean with no unravelling. The pre-light draw was smooth. So far so good.

It gave me no problems lighting. Smoke was good but not as good as I have had before with other smokes. Now here is where it gets curious. A co-worker of mine described smoking cigars like having a 3 course meal. You have the beginning, the middle and then the end. The analogy is dead on accurate.

The beginning for me, I didn't care for it too much. Maybe a tad bit too strong for me. Almost bitter in a way. At this point, I was actually contemplating in giving up on it altogether and going with something else. Even a finger of The Dalmore, Cigar Malt scotch wasn't having any effect.

It got towards the middle and the taste changed to something more pleasant. The pairing of the scotch was going a litle smoother. But, this wasn't out of the woods yet. There was a slight uneven burn going on in the middle section. The taste was steadily improving.

The last one third or so was even better. Smooth, creamy and the scotch really starting marrying up very nicely. I was really enjoying it and almost did not want it to end. However, I had to do a touch up because it went out on me. This smoke lasted a good hour, so that was a plus!

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this one and don't know where to go with it overall. There seemed to be a lot of complexity with this smoke. There was a lot going on with it.

I am inclined to give it another try at some point.

Thanks for looking! :)
