Yesterday I was in my cigar store, and they were excited about a new release from AVO - the LE5. Supposedly it's a limited edition blend, and they're raving about the flavor. It looks nice, is an unbanded smoke, in a rough looking box. (Kinda reminded me of the initial release of the RP Edge).

Anyone have any experience with these? I bought one to eventually try, but I was told they won't be around long and was wondering if I should pick up more...

Any thoughts?

Try it, if it's good, send me two. If not, send me one! :D

Pm Sent, although I know nothing about the line, sorry George.

Just found this info on the AVO website...

AVO Limited Edition "2005"

As an exclusive to mark his 79th birthday, the renowned musician and cigar composer Avo Uvezian is presenting an exceptional rarity: the AVO Limited Edition “2005”.

This refined composition reflects his memories of his childhood in the golden twenties.

The exclusive special edition from AVO shows the cigar in its original form in those days: not only does it come without a cigar band, it is also wrapped in paper in bundles of 20 and packed in a simple wooden box. Every box of the AVO Limited Edition “2005” is accompanied by a leaflet on the history and manufacture of the cigar, signed exclusively by the AVO cigar rollers responsible for its production.

This special edition from AVO is limited to 6,000 boxes worldwide.

Length: 13.6 cm – 5 3/8 inches

Diameter: 21 mm / 52 ring gauge

Wrapper: Connecticut - Ecuador - Sun grown
Olor

Binder: Piloto Seco

Filler: San Vicente Ligero (from two different regions)
Criollo Seco

I had one yesterday - and in a word, "WOW". Beautiful construction, excellent pre-light draw. The cigar started out VERY mild, with incredible volumes of smoke. As I smoked the cigar, it built to an incredible medium/full body with very complex flavors...

It sucks that they make a cigar like this, and you can only get them ONCE, (if you're lucky)...

Wow...sounds awesome. I have never heard of these, and don't smoke a whole lot of AVO's in general, but I will need to track one of these down based on your review.

Todd - just got done with the 77 - a very nice smoke - I really enjoyed it (that Avo Uvezian really knows how to make a cigar!!!)...

But, you better get a box of the LE05's!!! It is definitely worth picking up!!! Wait till you try it! It's a tad more powerful and complex than the 77, but not overly so.

Ok I'll be looking for two boxes one to smoke one to keep. Let me know if ya see um anywhere.

I picked up a few from my local shop after reading this thread. I didn't know these were out there. Very nice smoke. A full bodied smoke, I feel is better than the AVO77

awesome thanks for the links guys. I love to listen to OZ's jazz piano with a glass of TABOR HILL AND A GOOD AVO CIGAR.

I can get a box of these for 212.00 tax, title and liscense. Is there a better price than that out there including shipping? If there is not a better price would someone be interested in splitting a box? That would be 10 for 106.00 or 5 for 53.00 plus shipping.
