7" x 54-36 Pyramid
Origin: DR
Binder: DR
Filler: DR
Wrapper: USA Connecticut Shade Grown

During a movie I lit one of these up while relaxing on the couch with my girlfriend. Managed to enjoy smoking over what had been on screen.
Packaged in a tubo with cedar, the entire wrapper was developing bold spots of bloom and had this unique dusty feel- like
spray on acrylic/satin finish- but with less particles to rub off. It's moisure level was great, slight pressure wasn't cracking the
wrapper which was smooth on the outside, soft on the inside. There is definatly a differece when comparing it to fresher cigars- it
seems more like a rotted branch from a cold humid forest that has remained nearly preserved before crumbling from disturbances.
It held together in areas where other cigars fail. After cutting down the head, a band of tobacco I intended on keeping split. After that fell off I was suprised that for another hour, the wrapper remained intact. The very tip of the giant triangular shape just barely came off to my lips- never once did anything fall apart.
I'm really appreciating cigars that both burn even, but that are balanced enough so that puffs of smoke trail from the head after a nice draw. This cigar was able to do that, each time exaggerating whispy blueish ghost smoke from a ringed whiteish grey ash. If the cigar idled only a small trail of smoke would creep up thinner than a no. 2 pencil.
There is alot to say about condition of this Avo but i'll admit it's flavor was not in my interest at times. During pre light the smell of
honey mingled with a hint of perfume or flowers at both it's head and foot. That quickly faded after lighting, and I was greeted with some clean smooth tobacco sweetness with an aftertaste of stale cheese. This taste wasn't overpowering, just unexpected! A minute later a very nice spicey cedar that was distant and smooth defined a nice portion of several good puffs. Somewhere half way, another sneaky punch of cheese came. For a few minutes this cigar reminded me of that smell inside a semi moist musky attic. It's not dry nor stale, maybe closer to old furniture.
As for the final half or so, the flavor was a nice comfortable blend of tobacco, spice, and cedar. Sometimes I could detect a mild sweet flavor in the tobacco.
Comparing it's odor with other cigars, i'd say there is a unique character in the scent of the Avo. It was an interesting cigar to smoke and was in excellent condition. Perhaps a few months from now with warmer weather this would be something to try again, but overall the price and those odd flavors strays my interest to other cigars.
90 minutes satisfied me enough too put this one down.
