Time for a review of yesterdays Atlanta events...
First made the 45 minute trek to Tobacco World for the advertised CAO event ("Free cigars, party, specials and fun"). Upon arriving at precisely 3pm, I was informed that the event didn't start until 4pm. This started a quick discussion with a BOTL sitting at the TV popping up with his postcard and said, "No, you advertised 3pm". The owner (?)laughed it off and said that he would begin his specials now (CAO - buy 3 get 1 free, buy a box -at stick price- get 1/2 box free). Entered the 850 sq ft humidor ("largest selection in Georgia") and found it to be well stocked and fairly priced. While in there, I learned that Aylin O was a no show (due to her fathers' illness). We now awaited the rep to "get the party started". Well, the rep showed up at about 3:45 and immediately went into the humi to push his specials. At 4:15pm, after finding that there were no "free cigars, party or fun", only specials, we left for the Camacho event.
Got to Blue Havana in Cumming at about 5:15. Here's where the owner of Tobacco World needs to go to see how a little rep event should be done. Was immediately greeted by the owner upon entering this mom and pop operation and directed to see the rep, who was handing out sticks and giving out tickets to the drawing (hats, t-shirts, etc). He also informed us of the specials (same as Tobacco World) and showed us to the smoking lounge where food and drink awaited. Food was shrimp, meatballs, wings and cheeze. And there was a nice selection of adult beverages to wash it all down with. Sat with a great group of guys (and gals) for a couple hours before leaving for home to mow the lawn.
So to summarize, Tobacco World has a great humidor, but I'd go back to Blue Havana for their hospitality and atmosphere.
