Well I had my second VSG ever the other night. The first one was either a fake or had been badly stored at one point in its life cos it was horrible.

Anyways I smoked it while working on my bike and I remember thinking "where's the bite?" You know, that extra little kick of flavor or strength that makes you sit up and say, "WOW?" it just wan't there. I mean, good cigar, no doubt about it, but none of that special something that makes a great cigar.

Then a little bit later I decided to have a nother cigar and I chose a Chateau Fuente Sungrown, graciaously gifted to my as a wish fulfillment by Bat_Chief. When I lit this up, there was a "wow!"

I mean, rich, dark, smoky, and with a kick! And the cigar was good too! j/k

I was surprised. I really, really tried to like the VSG but it's just not happening to me. It's like driving in a brand-new 4-cylinder Mustang vs. a 1969 Camaro. Yeah the Mustang has all the modern bells and whistles, but the Camara is what you REALLY want to drive.

So, in the future, I will not be trading for VSGs. I think I may have one left; I will probably put it in a pass, or if I'm feeling particularly perverse, I may smoke it.

That's why they make so many different cigars. We all like something different. I'm going to have to pull out the fuente sungrown cuban beli I have and see what all the hype is.

The SGCB is one of my Fav's also. At least as good as a VSG and much cheaper, easier to find.

Why, glad you liked it, brother Lumberg! ;) And I agree with Wascal, it's good to love smokes that are cheep and easy. Yes Trip, I'm still talking cigars here!! :p :sign:
