Had myself an Ashton Aged Maduro #40 this evening and it was so good that I thought it deserved a thread of its own.
Wow, what a smoke this was! The appearance alone was captivating with the dark and veiny broadleaf that they wrap this bad boy up it, and I thought to myself....surely this won't taste as good as it looks.
But it surely did. This is what I call a good example of delivering strength with sophistication. It certainly wasn't a knee buckler or overpowering, but it certainly held it's own in that regards.
The taste was flat out captivating, starting with a nice sweetness that didn't take over the 'gar but encompassed it while producing a rich and nutty flavor that was just excellent.
I bought one of these just to try along with another 5'er I had grabbed, and boy am I glad I did.
Excellent cigar IMO and without a doubt one of the top 5 maduro's I've ever had.
I highly recommend this one if you haven't already tried it. If you have, you're probably saying "Brick, tell me something I don't know."
Not really a review thread, just a rave thread
