Hey guys,

I and a buddy really like AF's (yea go figure, big shocker there) and I have several AF singles floating around in my hummis from passes. Usually I just pick one that looks good and don't worry about what it is, there all good. My buddy though wants to try a sun grown, and I'm trying to figure out if I have one left still, they may all be gone though. I'm afraid I'm not up on the full AF Sun Grown line. What are all the varieties sun growns come in? Are they just Gran Reserva's or are they available in Don Carlos as well? Are all sg's black band/black foot?

A little help here would be appreciated. It's ok by the way to rib me a little on not being as up on my AF details as I should, just don't go to rough on me please. ;)

Black band and black ribbon at the foot. Also a cedar wrap. 858 SGs are the best, IMHO.
 
Yeah, the 858s are great from what I've heard, but I've also never seen one in real life. :(

I love the Chateau Fuentes. :love: And they are readily available.
 
I had an AF Double Chatue Fuente SG that was great, I would definatly like to have more.

I have a Gran Reserva Flor Fina 858 with a black foot. Is it the only 858 with a black foot? Do the Maddie and natural 858's both have green ribbons then in other words?

If it's an SG I'll let him try that one. It looks like an SG to me but then my experience with them is very limited. Looks a little too dark for natural though, and a little too light for a maddie.

That's the SG. Only the SG and Rosado 858's have ribbons on the foot. SG(black)/Rosado(red). The other 858 wraps are not packaged with any additional flair and are banded with the tradtional red/green band.
 
Gibu, if you want to try another great SG from the Fuente family thats not as widely touted as the others try the Montesino Aged Cabinet Reserve. They come in a Belicoso Magnum 50 x 5.50, Belicoso No. 2 48 x 6.25 Pyramids 50 x 6.00 and Super Belicoso 52 x 6.50.

You can find them (depending on size) in the $100 - $150 a box range and is one of two cigars that I would put up against anything in the under $5 catagory.

Remember....... don't tell anyone! ;)


PS - make sure its the Aged cabinet Reserve. The other cigars in the Montesino line are not Sun Grown.
 
A second on the Montesino SG. Used to be able to pick these up at CB for $3.00 a sitck. Think everyone has wised up. :(

It's possible you might find them in a local shop -- a new shipment is supposedly due soon. I think they are discontinuing them this year though :(
 
My shop is out of the regular 858 Maduros. ??? I'd hope they get in a shipment of the sungrowns. I'd really like to try them. Keep me in mind if your shop gets some in Moki ;)
