As You all probably know Short Story is the smalles cigar from Hemingway line.
Its 4 x 48 but looks like 4 x 40-45

Its very well build, but I think its also a little to hard and not spongy at all.
If I grab it in my fingers a little to strong I'm pretty sure it would break.
Although its very small it has a really nice figurado shape.
The wrapper is dark cameroon, it smells good but with no big excitement

I thought there will be some problems with lighting this small end up because of its shape...

...but it went perfectly

The main flavor was woody with some nutty hits.
I had to smoke it very very slow to not make it to warm because then it was bitter and a little harsh.
The woody taste was almost the same during whole cigar, only sometimes becoming stronger or lighter.
The ash looked like it was very strong so I did not care about ashtray and ofocurse 2 iches long ash felt on the carpet.

Generally it was a nice smoke but without taste explosions or any delights.
During this 45 minutes the bigest weeknes was bitternes which was really not easy to avoid.

In 10 grade scale I can give it 6+ / 7-

Ok, and now some macro pictures for Cigar Porn Maniacs. :)
(I have a new camera so prepare for more macccro pics ;) )

Nice review. :) you seemed to have a good time with it.

Just for future info it is "cameroon" and "macro" ;)

Nice job on the review. For some reason I can't see the pictures from work.

Great review!

Personally, I thought these were much better years ago. All the recent ones I've smoked have been very underwhelming.

Nice review. Short Story is good - I like Best Seller even better, IMO. Cool avatar Michal. I recently re-read a bunch of Tom Robbins books - Tanuki is a main character in one.

Reading this reviw forced me to goto my humi and harvest one from it's resting place.

MMmmmm quickie cigars.....

Nice one, Michal. I have to admit that the SS underwhelms me as well.

Keep the cool macro photos coming!

I've heard the same thing recently, which is a shame, as they used to be quite good.

I was told that the "newer" SS's needed at least a year to be good so I purchased a box and let them sit. I have just passed the eight month mark and will hold out until I reach one year. I prefer the Hemmi madruos, but after going through a fiver of the WOAN I think they are my favorite natural cameroon in the whole line.

If the SS is from where I think it is from, there was well over a year of age on Michal's smoke!
I love these... Sorry it didn't blow your socks off Michal!

The Short Stories (along with the VSG Tres Mystique) are my favorite short smokes.

These are one of my favorites as well.

I do find that they are not quite as good as when I had my first, but I attribute that to the fact that the first 5 or so I had were gifted to me and likely had some age on them. The ones I get from the local Bend Over Tobacco shop really need some time to come down in humidity and to mellow out.

I still love these, but not enough to pay the local asking price of $9 a piece (taxes and a-hole shop owner). I grab a few online from time to time.

Yep, its the one that You're thinking about ;)

Thanks for kind words guys :)

Nice review Michal. I just had one coming home from work and I had the same thing with the bitterness. Once you slow it down, it does become a much better smoke. Thanks for sharing. :)
