From Arganese's website:
Maduro Chairman Torpedo
Ring: 52
Length: 6 7/8
Band color: White
Wrapper: Maduro, Brazilian Matafina
Binder: Indonesian
Filler: Dominican
A medium-bodied cigar made of the finest, hand picked tobaccos, carefully aged for 7 years. Dominican Republic and Cuban seed Dominican grown tobaccos are exquisitely blended to give you a perfect smoke every time. Hints of chocolate and sweetened coffee flavors highlight the experience.
I've smoked several Arganese cigars now, and decided to light up the Maduro Chairman Torpedo. Again, Gene has done a great job at blending a fine cigar!
Construction of the cigar was very good. Pre-light aroma was pleasant, slightly sweet smelling. Clipped just a tad off the head, and the draw was tight for obvious reasons - the foot of the cigar tapers down to a point. This cigar was easy to light, and required no maintenance.
Started off with just a hint of spice. As the cigar burned and the foot opened up, the draw became perfect. Took about 5 minutes before the foot was fully ignited (again, due to the taper). On a side note, I've seen people clip off the foot of a tapered cigar... Personally I think it's best to light the foot and allow it to open up naturally.
Some of the flavors I picked up from this cigar are: spice, coffee, cinnamon/nutmeg (quite a bit actually toward the middle of the cigar), and chocolate towards the end of the cigar. I did not have to touch up the burn at all - the cigar burned remarkably well. The flavors were subtle for the most part, yet quite distinguishable.
One thing I've noticed about Arganese cigars is that all of the ones I've smoked so far have had a very pleasant sweet profile to them. A great mid-afternoon cigar or after dinner smoke.
Cigar lasted about 1 hour, and I really enjoyed it. My hats off to Gene Arganese for creating yet another fine cigar. I'm looking forward to trying his other blends/sizes.
