I have been searching through various online cigar retail sites as well as any walk-in humidor. I have been looking for one particular cigar. It was truly the best cigar I have had the pleasure to smoke. Trouble is that the cigar had no band.

My sister-in-law and her husband found the cigar in Florida, down in the Key's. It had a darker wrapper, not a maduro. The unique thing about this stick is that approximately 1/2 inch of the foot of the cigar was unwrapped. As I recall the ring gauge had to be close to a 60 in size. It was medium strength, creamy smooth from first light through to the nub.

If anyone out there knows of this cigar by my description, I would love to hear from you. Will have to get the name of the shop where it was bought and enquire there, but in the mean time, this cigar has my vote as a definitive must have in the humidor.

Unbanded shagfoot from a shop in the keys. I would say probably a custom rolled. Should check out Johnny-O!s as a lot of his cigars are custom rolled and some have the same shagfoot.

Pete Johnson of Tatuaje had a brand named "Nuevitos Jibaro" that were like that.

I haven't seen any for a long time. If that was it, and you recently smoked it, it had a min. of a few years on it.

I liked them. I have one left :(

From Wiki:

"The Nuevitas Jibaro is actually not part of the Tatuaje line and was created by Pete Johnson. Although Pepin Garcia is usually associated with Mr. Johnson's cigars, he was not involved in the creation or production of this small line. They were made by Pedro Martin's old Tropical Tobacco (since purchased by AGANORSA and now known as Tabacalera Tropical[9][10])in Estelí, Nicaragua. The design of the cigar was modeled after a custom-rolled Cuban Cohiba. It was a very strong blend. Mr. Johnson discontinued production of the cigar rather than have the production moved to another factory.[11]

The cigars were unbanded with an unfinished foot and the line was limited to two vitolas, both figurados, the No. 1 (5 x 54) and the No. 2 (6 x 52)." Click the link, below, for an image.

I go down to Marathon periodically, so depending on where the shop turns out to be located, I might be able to stop by if you strike out dealing with them directly. Shoot me a PM if you find out the name of the place but can't get them to help you due to being in Canada or whatever.

Gurkha Shaggy XO 6 x 60 might be one to look at.

@ The Green Monkey, will do, thank you.

Thank you guys. Will keep you updated on what I find.
