Rather than buy my boss some cubans, I decided to go for the humidor. Does anyone out there happen to have one of these?

Any comments, likes or dislikes? Any comments on the humidification system? I would add a digital hygrometer as to not rely on the unreliable decoration on the door. Any changes I should suggest to my boss?

Will this be for the office or home?
What location would it be put in ?
Sometimes a desktop is better suited to a situation than a display.

My guess is it will be placed in his home office. Can't see him displaying his cubans at work for everyone to drool over.

I'm just looking for something sharp (I like the glass) with a decent capacity. There is also a similar but larger design with a slightly higher capacity (something like 120-150) that I also liked. I suppose something like that would have to sit on his floor.

Anyway, I know nothing about this stuff, especially humidification, and just wanted to make sure I got him something decent.

Hell, i'd hire ya for the thought. Practically, alot of glass, holds 3 trays, more of a showcase. Just too much empty space. I would persoanlly go with 150 ct glasstop.

Yeah ditto that. Personally this looks too "commercial" to me. Something that would be on the counter at my local shop rather than on my desk or in my home office.

For the same price (or close to it) you can get something nicer that will hold twice as much.

I had one of those units and it is a piece of crap. The door is held on with the tiniest screws. I had to replace 3 of them with longer ones right out of the box.

Now that we've established it's a piece of crap....

I'm looking for something of a showcase, but a small one that could also hold a few boxes as well as loose cigars. I don't mind the empty space, just as long as it can hold humidity at the correct level.

Anymore suggestions?

PS. I'm not looking for a job. I'm very content where I am. I'm working for my third different company under the same boss. He takes me with him and always negotiates an ever increasing salary for me. I believe he's one of the few bosses in the world who realizes his performance is only as good as the people who work for him. Therefore he surrounds himself with great people and gives them whatever they need to be happy and get the job done. And in the rare event that something gets screwed up, it's his hand-picked team so HE takes the fall. Consequently, I'm only allowed to make one mistake per year and I did that back in April.....

I was looking at these when I started in the hobby.
Got word from the supplier, that it wont hold as many as it states.
I would go with a glass-top desktop if you are looking to display them.
But you have to have humidity and temperature as priorities, before appearance. Just my 2c !
