What are those stains on the carpet there? :whistling:  :whistling:

I had a partner that had a McDermott cue once. Nice stick. He won it at a bar one night when a guy couldn't pay him what he owed him.

That's 'bout as far as it goes for me. I've had cheaper cues when I was playin' more but no nice ones. Besides, people get intimidated when you have your own and then either wanna fight ya(because they think you're tryin' to sucker 'em) or wanna play you for a bunch of money(because they think you think you're cool!)

FOKIN' IDIOTS!!! I saw a guy shot and killed over a $1.00 pool game. I quit playin' unless I'm at someone's house. Much nicer folks there!!! ;)

****NO Matt, he wasn't a "Life Partner" or anything like that! Beat ya to it, didn't I?!?!?!?!?!****** LMAO!!!!

I still have a few cues, and had quite a few more over the years. My favorite might still be my first serious stick, which is a very plain stick by Heubler, a UK mass producer. Steel joint, no-points (just dark plain colobolo), 22oz, still hits like the straightest sledgehammer in the world... I can remember almost 20 years ago saving up the money for it one game at a time - which took an infinite amount to me at the time.

When I play now, I play with a custom cue made by a fellow working near the Pittsburgh area named Paul Mottey His Page. He's a one man show, but for my style of play, he makes just an obscenely good stick. I'll have to dig out pics at some point, but the last stick in his gallery 1 slide show is almost identical to mine (mine just has a braided linen wrap and a different design in the butt inlay). Here's a link to the similar pic on his site: his pic, not mine

I also still have an old Meucci sneak 'n pete that occassionally gets brought out when I'm a bit undercover... Perfect little stiick for its purpose.

Cheers,

- Oak

My first cue was a fiberglass thing that I got fo $100. It was kind of cool because I there was no fear of damaging the cue. Over time I found that it was a bit heavy and would get sticky in humid weather (very bad property for a pool cue).

Lately (for the past 10 year, though I haven't played in almost a year), I've been playing with a McDermott. It is a very nice cue, but looks cheesey as hell with it's 8-ball design.

I grew up in a pool hall from about 12-24.....I have had tons of sticks from Joss, to Macdermott(hate them), to Meucci's and a few others...My favorite was an 18.5 Two arrow Meucci and a good one piece house cue is great...I used to have to play with a broom handle to be fair, but now I am a bit rusty!! :D :D Anyway, I love to shoot pool, but there is no where worth a crap near my home, time to move I guess!! Man what memories I have from hustling pool to eat and support other endeavors!!

Some nice ones there... I had a Heubler Hustler (basically a sneaky pete) a few years back. That's the one I played with when I was managing the pool room. I used it as a break stick too. I haven't played in a very long time and wasn't any good when I did play. LMAO!

Floyd, you're playing in the wrong pool rooms, LMAO! Go somewhere classy! LMAO!

My cousin is a professional 9 ball player in the WPBA, so I've seen some pretty fancy cues over the years. She's got more cues than I have cigars, I think. LOL!

Those Schuler's are beautiful, as are Joss and I've even seen a few Motty's.

I have a hand made schon, they are now machine made for the most part, I bought from a little fella named Tony watson.Plus I have 15 various other sticks hubler, viking, meuchi, joss east, ect ect.

I have a Biagio that I have had since I was about 16. I used to play pool about 5 days a week when in high school

I shoot with a basic Cuetec. It was inexpensive, I didn't have to worry about my friends using it and mistreating it(warping), and if need be, the butt was heavy enough to knock someone sensless if I happened to be playing on the wrong side of town. :-)

*laugh* - I didn't realize anyone else played with a heubler or even heard of mottey. Also, his sticks aren't all that expensive if you get to know him a bit - he's a really good guy - or at least was back when I lived in the area. For every 5K stick he sells, he sells another for 5 hundred that has as much or more detail. I never played with anyone who even recognized the maker. Funny how every pool hall always has its own "alpha brands" or favorite custom makers - I was always the odd one out...

In reference to gr8full2day's post - I learned how to play from a retired pro and he periodically would wail on someone (and I mean someone _good_ ) with an actual broomstick. He once beat me soundly with a broom - and after every shot, he'd stare at the broom bristles and pretend to adjust a couple... He ran 50+ plus balls in straight pool on me with a damn broomstick... heheh.

I also own a couple of hueblers, one from 89 with 5 veneers.

Matt, Pechaur very nice hitting cues

Oak, Paul Motty wow!!! Don't see too many of those around here. They command $3500-$5000. At least the ones I've seen.
