Anyone have any extra beads lying around?

Well the topic says it pretty much. I was thinking of buying a bigger humidor this summer, and apparently nothing beats the beads when it comes to humidification. I would very much like to buy enough for about a 200 count humidor. So, if anyone has any ol' beads gathering dust in a corner, PM me, maybe we can work something out! The reason I'm asking like this is because I never got any answer to my email I sent over to the bead-selling-place ???

Note: I live in Finland.

I don't know who you sent an e-mail to but here are two companies that deal in the beads....

www.heartfeltindustries.com

www.climmax.com

I used Climmax and he never returned any e-mails....
If I had to order again it would be from Heartfeltindustries

If you have a problem with them shipping to you, let me know and we'll work something out.

Tommy

Order from VIper at heartfelt.
He will probably ship them out right away.

And you wont have to wait like other places.

Viper at heartfelt is awsome. shipped my orders very quickly !

Another Viper / Heartfelt satisfied customer here. My e-mails are always answered, orders have always been shipped promptly, and my humi's are happier than ever....

Best Regards - B.B.S.

throw me in the heartfelt/Viper fan club! FAST service and the beads kick A$$ over anything else you could use...

Very well! Looks like Viper is the guy to talk to. Thanks for the fast replies

I sent an e-mail to climmax.com, never got an answer. Now to decide which one I should go for, 65 or 70%...

Yes they have shipped. Took the package to the Post Office this morning. Enjoy!

Just placed my order for 1 lb of 65% beads. Ordered another Barrister humidor from JRs as the first is already full. Will use one for box aging and one for trays of singles. Going to use 1/2 lb of beads in each as the Oasis I have is a piece of junk. Looking forwward to using these beads as they come highly recommended by almost everyone here.

Now that I have my beads, I have a couple questions:

I put the whole pound into my igloodor in a dish like this:

Code:
| \S/ |
|_________|

So the beads are around the S (shotglass with distilled water). How long should it take for the beads to suck up the water. The beads aren't in contact with the water, but it's as close to the beads as possible :)

If I decide to move the beads to, say, a new humidor, can I just spread the beads out in a big dish and let them dry off on my desk? Viper was already so helpful, I don't want to spam him with questions :whistling:

Hey Lemon,

The best way I have found to hydrate the beads is a sponge method. What I do is get a NEW sponge that has no residue from soap or prepackaged with any additives. Wet the sponge with distilled water, not to the point where it is dripping, but moist. Place the sponge over the beads in your container and after a couple of days the beads will have absorbed the water. I find this works well for me. Just remember to use a sponge without any additives because you don't want anything to clog the beads.....

Good Luck,
Mike

My $00.02 -

For sponges, I like the cheapest of the cheap small full synthetic ones you get in the grocery store. No organics in these, trust me. They usually come in a 3 pack or something like that. I've cut 'em up into 1" cubes and get them moist - NOT wet - with distilled water and use them around the humi as required.

Along with the distilled water I got from the grocery store, I got a small spray bottle, filled it with DI, and set it to spray very fine. Works like a champ to re-humidify open containers / bags of beads...
