Anybody else kind of sick of swimming?

I like the swimming, I've watched pretty much all of it. Actually, my TV has pretty much stayed on the Olympic channels since the games started. I can get into watching just about any sporting event if I've got a rooting interest. If the US is involved in any of the events, I've got somebody to cheer for.

That men's 4 x 100m relay was about the most excited I've ever been watching the Olympics. Keep in mind, I was born a few months after Lake Placid happened.

I've been only getting 4 hours of sleep watching as much as I can. There are all sorts of things on the other NBC stations like MSNBC, CNBC etc etc. I love it, I'm having Olympics, Olympics, Olympics, Olympics, Olympics, Olympics, Olympics, Olympics, Olympics, Olympics, Olympics, Olympics, Olympics, Olympics and Olympics!

AVB I guess the baked beans are out?

I'm with Alan on the not really caring about watching the prelims. I am not yet tired of finals swimming though. The two things that have most impressed me about Phelp's quest is 1) all medals are also World Records, if I'm not mistaken, and 2) he's done at least 2 qualifying events following a final. That has got to take a ton of focus and stamina to run two races in an hour. Maybe he doesn't have to go 100% in the prelims but still I'd think he would have drained the tank in the final that preceded it. I've watched the basketball teams just to see how bad we would beat people and if they were actually playing as a team. I'm happy that the men look like a team and not just a bunch of all stars trying to do their own thing.

Being a parent of 3 swimmers, youngest working hard to get a scholarship. Supporting them for over 12 years now, It is amazing what they have done.

Prelims can get tedious. But so is preseason football.

That's my .02, don't hate me.

Swimming is great; I love watching any talented individual do what they do. The problem lies with the media, and their lack of vision and talent. I remember when News wasnt rated, and there were only a few times a day News casts. How the hell else are you going to fill up a 24 hour format, not to mention a few hundred channels.
