I have always felt nothing is of higher worth on this board than a person’s trading reputation. In the many, many trades, bombs, sales, splits, etc. I’ve been privileged to take part in, I have never taken advantage of nor compromised another member. I simply wouldn’t do it. It goes against everything I believe in, and I've kept that in mind with every action I’ve taken when interacting with other CP members. Say what you’re going to do, then do what you said you’d do, and do it promptly. You can find many, many folks I’ve traded with over the years of my membership that can verify that I’m prompt and do what I said I would do. Always.
I’ve been on the phone with Anthony (Tone-NY) talking about the situation we’re all aware of. It would seem that I distinctly remember the situation one way, and Chris (seadub) distinctly remembers it another way. Lacking a PM trail or other documentation (and I’ve looked), there doesn't seem to be any way to “resolve” this, one way or another. Clearly, one of us is mistaken. I wouldn’t have let a debt owed go on for years and years without some form of communication, but that’s me.
For the sake of the board I care so much about, and in an attempt to salvage what was at one time a very good friendship, I’m willing to state that perhaps I’m the one who got it wrong. If that's the case, clearly it's me who needs to make it right. To put an end to what’s been a bad situation all around, I’ll let Chris pick how he’d like this settled;
- Cash. Name the value you put on the cigars that traded hands. I'll get you a money order in the mail tomorrow.
- Replacement sticks. I can order a box of the sticks in question, and will ship five out as soon as they arrive. That vendor is running two to three weeks, currently.
- Alternately, I can pick a nice selection from my humidor and ship that out this weekend.
I will, however, need someone to PM me the proper shipping address.
I’d very, very much like for this to be an event in the past, and for us all to move forward in a much more positive light.
I also apologize to the board as a whole for the obvious stress and tension this event has caused; hopefully, this will make things right with the group.
