I know there's travel humidors made from aluminum, but does anybody have one or seen one as a cabinet style? I got some gears turning here. :whistling:

All you would need would be a break. And some welding skills. I hate welding aluminum, especially thin aluminum. I wonder if the thermal properties would be a setback? The inside would quickly reach equalibrium with the room temperature and that could get bad in the summer. You'd have a hell of a lot in the material as well. I don't mean to be a nay-sayer, but I don't know if this would be feasible. What do you have in mind?

A coragated aluminium pick-up truck tool box comes to mind. They would seal up nicely...

I did consider that, but thought of creating a 1 1/2" space between the diamond plate and cedar that I could use the pink sheet insulation. It would make the carcass larger or usable space less, but I thought it would work.

Not sure on a complete design, but thought of using alum angle for the frame and diamond plate panels for the sides, top & doors.

Just getting ideas that's all!

glass and mirrors would have to be thrown in with some flashy LED'S.... HA. sounds like a neat project keep us informed.

I think that would work. Even styrofoam insulation might work. Diamond plate? It would be a bad ass looking humi...something that would look great in a car (or bike) garage!

Sound like a neat project. I have a couple of sheets of diamond plate a work laying around. I will have to learn to weld Aluminum. I must try///..

I agree
It would be cool
Only thing I would be worried about was the Aluminium Oxidizing.
But then I suppose you could coat the Inside before lining it.
I have seen an old 6 cylinder Kawasaki engine converted into a toolbox,The guy who made it hollowed the inside right out of it. It looked real cool. It took him a while to make it .
Good luck :D
