Already need more space

I can not believe that I already need more room in my humidor. My top tray will not fit smoothly inside the humidor. I could find a way to get it to sit higher than the shelf it sits on....any ideas on ways to prop it up. Or what I am thinking of doing is just removing the top shelf for now until I create some room (may be a month or 3). So my question is, what is the best way to store the shelf, if I remove it? In a closet, in a wine fridge, on the roof? May be a dumb question, but I am sure someone has had to do the same thing.

Doesn't really matter how you store it, though it'll need to re-season IF you ever put it back in. Just get a cooler now and save yourself the hassle. :p

x2 embrace the madness. Check out the threads on how to put together a coolerdor, get some empty boxes for singles and put your current humi and empty boxes in the cooler.

I would think if you wanted to keep it seasoned, a plastic ziplock bag, and some sort of humidifier, beads, gel pak, etc.

This is what I tried doing when I removed the shelf from my humi...though I had to use 2 ziplocks to cover it, and I couldn't zip them. I picked up another humi so I could put the shelf back in. So have you started checking out coolers yet?

Definately sounds like its time for a cooler. I mean you have only been here 2 weeks so you will definately need it. And then if you go another route later you can always use to cooler for its intended purpose.

LOL

yes I have been reading around about the coolidor. I have thought about it, but at this time I do not have the space to put it yet. But it is on my wish list and will happen probably over the summer. Right now I am focused on getting my current 150cnt going smoothly, in that I am currently using COXL, but am having issues. SO I am reaking around and finding that beads and a digital hydro sounds like the way to go. Any kind of beads? I have read some with 65% some with 70%....I am assuming that with my 150 I will only need an 8oz container?

The coolidor is coming later and I will be posting pics when its done :D

You'll find varying opinions on whether or not to go with the 65 or 70% beads. If I were to guess I would assume more folks would suggest to go with the 65%. I just bought 65% beads for my vinotemp and am currently prepping them to go in there, so we'll see how that goes. As far as how many beads you will need to fit inside your humi, just do some quick measurements of the interior of the humi and heartfelt has a calculator to tell you how many you will need. I would assume that the 8 oz tube would be enough, but the more the merrier when it comes to beads.

Edit for spelling.

If you decide on 70% Rh beads let me know i can give you a good deal. Since my 300ct humidor and my 60qt cooler are both full i recommend you get a cooler sooner then later.
