Believe it or not, here in Alaska we'll be having an event at our local smoke shop. A rep from the Fuente Co. will be here showcasing the Montesino line of cigars.

I have not had any expirence with these, so I'll probably go as I happen to be off. Are these decent cigars, as I would expect any AF to be? or should I find a better way to pass my evening? Any that I should try over others, since they'll be presenting attendees with samples?

Any ideas or info would be great!

Montesino is an excellent cigar. Its kind of like an inexpensive Ashton.
Its a real good $5 smoke. Try the sungrown if they have them.....its kinda like a sungrown fuente..well it is ..but not...just try em theyre good.
Maduro is good too. ;)

edit: the sungrowns are alittle more than $5 more like $7

They are pretty mild for my taste, but a good cigar non the less. Good starter

You better go. The Reps are usually generous. The Fuentte rep was in my buds shop recently and I got a handful of smokes.

Louie? :D

He's new!

Any time to go out and smoke cigars with others is a good thing...

Except when my wife won't let me because of "Father's Day"...

Sorry about missing that last weekend's tasting, KB!

It woulda been cool!

Cigar Events are awesome, IMHO, even better when reps are there. They love giving you things. Just say, Nope, what's that, how do they taste?

Had one Montesino before. While the flavor was good the draw was poor. Since I have had only the one I do not consider this to be a true indication of the brand and will be trying another soon since I recently pulled one out of a pass.

I would say go and hopefully the Rep. is generous and you can give them a try.

Them guys sure get around. They'll be at the Landings Tobacco Depot in Sarasota next Thursday. Gotta love the chance to get out and smoke free cigars with a bunch of compatriots.

Anytime your local shop has a rep come visit you better go. But, if you don't like free cigars stay at home. ;) I recently went to a Drew Estate tasting and I can't stand ACID but, hey it was a chance to hang out and smoke cigars. Luckly for me the rep also worked for Alec Bradley so, puffed on Trilogy's and Havana Sun Growns.

Great smoke to keep in the humi for guest! You don't want to see the look on a 105 lb girl after smoking a Bolivar do you? Trust me your carpet won't like it one bit!

Thanks all...
Called and got 4 slots for me, TuxIndy, Peterscreek and my cigar smokin budy next door. The event is this coming Thursday so we'll see how it goes! I'll post a report...

Not to thread jack, but there will be an event on Thrus. at the Tinderbox, and it'll be my last night...

IMO, the sungrown is the only wrapper to get. The rest is just Fuente Fodder.
