It has been a while since I did a review so with the random lightup that I had tonight post wife's sleepy time, one was in order. On the docket for your enjoyment is a brief Arturo Fuente Don Carlos #4. A Mini Belicoso weighing in at just 5 1/8 and a 43 ring gauge this is a much more petite smoke than I am used to.
This one has some age on it as the BOTL that sent it to me did not hold back. First impressions show a very solid construction with minimal veins. The wrapper is a gorgeous city roast for you coffee drinkers but for those of you who are not, almost the shade of a light brown almond. It is nice and firm throughout with only a very slight give.
After the cut the draw is very nice. I can taste light hints of pepper and a slight grassy taste. More to follow
First light produces copious amounts of dense white smoke. It is a really pleasant feeling because the smoke is palpable but not coating my mouth. First hints indicate strong notes of leather and caramel. Pepper grows after about .5 inches. I think I can taste traces of alfalfa (sweet hay) as well.
