I saw these for sale for $3.85 a stick .
I don't have much experience with candellas.
They have been interesting me lately and I would like to try some
I just want to get some opinions before I buy

If you're going to smoke a candela that would be the one to try. I've not tried one but I've tried a few of the lower end candelas and have been underwhelmed. I've read a few posts from bros that love the 858's though.

They are pretty good smokes... they are definitely on the milder side of things; almost grassy in a way as well. I prefer the SGs and Rosados (figures, right? ) because they have more kick. The Maduros are nice too.

Says one of the few people in the world to have seen an 8-5-8 rosado... I gotta see your humidor some time. Have you posted any pics to the photo site?

I'm not a fuente slut by any means, but I have had the 858 claro, sungrown, maduro, and rosado.

The sungrown was my favorite. The maduro was ok. The rosado was pretty good but probably would have been better if not for my expectations.


I had the claro while playing golf. Make sure you don't put it down on the green, you might not find it again. I agree with Moki on this one, definitely grassy. It was a good mild smoke and far better than any other candela I've had. Not my cup of tea though. I can see someone else liking them though.

Nah, trust me, plenty of people here have seen and smoked them as well...

Decent enough for a candela. I like the occasional candela as a change of pace and find the LGCs to be the best. YMMV
