Acclaym's Humidor Build

I think you're right, the picture doesn't look like a mold issue (I think it's called PLUME :p). I think a good cleaning, maybe a little sanding will clean that area up. I would still do a colloidal silver/water wipe down after cleaning though, just to be safe.

As for the water stains, there isn't much you can do to get rid of those. Again, maybe a light sand to lighten the stain a bit and a wipe down would make it less noticeable.

Plume for sure! Haha.

The next step is to decide if we are keeping the current racks. I hope a few of you may know your wood grains because I don't. Any educated guesses?

I think you may be correct. Very soft and very little smell when cut. I'm headed to a local wood yard that has some different cuts of Spanish cedar this week. I'm going to look into lining the inside and rebuilding a rack system with drawers to store singles.

I gave a few local lumber companies a call and they don't have jack. I called my local Woodcraft, as the scholar Paul suggested, and I think thats the direction I'm heading. Thanks TP. I'll be calling Monday to have them ship me out a few Spanish cedar 4'x8' veneer sheets.

I've sanded the beast down and this week I'm going to grab an off-white paint match for the lower and pick a stain that will match our existing office furniture for the upper.

Here's a file cabinet that the humidor will be next to. I'm looking to match it.

Are you going to put the AC unit back in, or plug the opening and call it good?

I'm back! We've been moving right along with her and now she's stained, painted, and I'm getting ready to cut and install the Spanish cedar veneer.

Here are the doors going through the "paint shop" . I hired some lady that stays with me to paint them and all she wanted was a bottle of wine. Easy enough...

Here's the patch job where the AC was. I sealed the edges with aquarium silicone.

Sure is a sweet unit there brother. Once filled with those boxes of Anjeo, stuff from OZ and all the rest of the goodies, people will see the quality of your stash, the humi will accent all that nicely. BTW, Aristocrat uses white pine for his basic box before it gets fancy.

Have you don’t a rough calculation on how much you can store?
