A Punch in a Pinch

On the way home from work and getting a bunch of "empty" wooden boxes from the Briar and Burley, I purchased a Punch Rare Corojo Rothschild / Length: 4 1/2" / Ring: 50 / Wrapper: Natural. $5.35

The smoke lit well and burned like it should. That is where the goodness ended.

The draw was difficult at times. That was not so bad. The worst part was that the cigar had a metallic taste and seemed very hot.

I have never tried one of these before. I may have to try one in a few weeks or so, to see if it was just that cigar.

The Gran Cru(s) are nice. It has been so long since I had a Punch, I just did not remember the metallic taste.

I had a regular Punch magnum this afternoon. I did notice the tight draw but not the metalic taste. Overall I thought it was pretty good. My palate, however, is probably not as sofisticated yet as most around here.

Sorry man, I just had the one. I will try another, considering that the majority of you have not noticed the metallic taste.

It seems the better stuff like the RC's loose most of the metalish taste. I do like punch though the champion is not bad.
