A nice night last night

The Wife & my little Daughter fell asleep around 8:00 last night. This gave me a nice chance to dig into some of the sticks that have been sleeping in my Humidor for a while.
I finally settled on a Monticristo Media Noche #2 that had been resting for 3+ years. I grabbed a pint of Red Stripe to accompany it, and went outside into a nice, bracing 40 degree evening.

I did not like these when they first came out, but I never gave one a chance after any sort of real rest.

That sucker mellowed pretty well. A real mild to medium smoke, lasted me two hours.
Still, pretty singular, not much in the way of complexity or change in profile. The last third maybe threw some citrus into the mix, but just a hint.
That was fine by me, I was pretty happy to just enjoy it.
And the quiet, enjoying it and the quiet.

I doubt I would ever buy any more of these, but wouldn't turn one down. It was a good Friday night smoke, and I am better for it.

The wife went out of town last night so I did the same, minus the alcohol since I am studying, but I had a nice Davidoff Puro d' Oro that was probably one of the strongest cigars I have smoked. Will be interesting to revisit it. I haven't had any of the Montecristo's. Might have to give them a try.

I often smoke Monte Media Noche cigars while golfing. I find them to be pretty consistent and a mild/medium. Not complex enough where you need to concentrate much on the cigar. Good flavors. It's got a nice sweetness to it.

Aye, there is a nice sweetness to it.
I just found another of these hiding out. I think I will burn it while letting the kid play at the little park.
Maybe I would enjoy it more in a little smaller ring gauge. If I see a fiver of Coronas or such for a decent price, i might give that a try.
