What a night. Had a gas cooktop fire. :0 The electricals shorted and had sparks, flames and smoke coming out from under. Had to call the firemen. Damage limited to the cooktop and burnt electrical smell in the kitchen. Had to wait in our truck until gas company gave us the all clear. Everyone is OK. And yes, I will still send out my end of the newbie trade tomorrow. :)

First thought after reading the title was that the little fire was at the business end of a good cigar.... any fire that isn't expected or controlled can be scary. Glad everyone is safe.

Wow, Joey, sounds scary to me. Glad to hear that the family is ok and the damage is minimal.

Hope that your family has a very Merry Christmas. We still miss here on Thursday night my friend.

/Lou

Thanks fellas! This could have been a very different Christmas for us but the Big Guy said not around my birthday! :)

Glad to hear all is well a cook top is replaceable, you and your family aren't!

Now stop trying to make lumpia for breakfast, while you are half a sleep :0

Haha! It was gravy and meatballs, Anthony. But I have not cooked lumpia in a long time, YUM! :) Thx.

You were just trying to get Swissy to come herf with you...

glad to hear it wasn't too serious.

I went into this thread thinking I was going to see a picture of you putting fire to a great smoke.

Sorry to hear about the kitchen fire, but nice to hear that all is good and no one was hurt.

Wow. I'm glad no one was injured. Like Anthony said, the cooktop is replaceable...

Joe,

Are you lighting your house on fire for the right reasons?

Thanks for all the kind words. I just got everything lined up for a new one installed this Thursday. I was going to buy the same one but having me wait for almost 30 min for customer service and the patronizing oh sorry but we never had any problems with this...made me take a look at another brand. Much more than the replacement cost but superb CS and willingness to accommodate my installation date request was worth it IMHO.

As stated everyone is safe! That's most important. Thank you all! :)

Glad all is well Joe. That's what happens when you have too many Red Horses.

Glad everyone is safe and you seem to have got it all worked out fairly quickly!

This is what happens why you try making freebase on the stove! Get help for your problem!!!

In all seriousness, I'm glad you're ok Joe! When are you coming back to the bay area? I'll make sure I'm not here! :D

Drama Queen!!! :p

Glad to hear everyone is OK, Joe. I can't wait for the full rehash on Wednesday night.
