I've noticed a disturbing trend here on CP lately, a behavior that both veterans new newcomers alike have succumbed to. The discourse here has degenerated because of it, and I feel I need to make a public statement about it.

:: saunters up to the soapbox ::

Think of the poor public school educated folks on CP who can't make it past the first sentence of a page-long post without breaking out into a cold sweat.

Think of the CP members from the deep south who aren't used to reading anything longer than a spousal restraining order, and have tool-shed flashbacks on the second paragraph.

Think of the children... nah, screw the children... think of the degenerates whose eyes glaze over reading anything more involved than paternity test results.

For the sake of everyone, I implore you: THINK PITHY!

What???

All I got out of that was - 'I've noticed a disturbing BLAH...BLAH...BLAH...'

Well, I do not think that it is as easy as you say. I many cases there are various sides to each side of the story and within those sides there are numerous points that one could elucidate upon to make sure that the nuances of the argument are understood. Maybe argument is too strong of a word...constructive discourse might be a better way of wording. That being said, if you remove the constraints of subtlety...

nevermind :)

Moki, the Sisters of Perpetual Misery and I thank you. I will continue to use big words and be tersely cogent. ie pithy.

Doc.

And ya gotta love those who copy/quote those lengthy diatribes while adding nothing as if it's a contest to see who can consume the highest quantity of megabytes.
