Hello all,

A BOTL friend of mine has a line on a box of Punch Rare Corojo Double Coronas. They are suppose to well cared for & four years old. I think this is a picture of the actual box:

I've never smoked one, but he is offering me a fiver out of the box. I've found the current year version of this stick for about $95-100 a box shipped. He thinks he'll have to pay $150 for the four-year old box.

My question is:

Does the aging make these special and worth the premium price? If so, how?

What are the opinions as to the quality of these specific PUNCH sticks, among those who have smoked them?

I'm a fan of the rare corojo, and do find that they just get better with age. The one thing I will say, is that going backa few years, there were some pretty significant quality control problmes, aspecially as to construction. if I remember ocrrectly, three of the first five I bought (probably around 3 years ago) burned terribly, or were nearly plugged. Based purely on this, I would be hesitant to pay much of a premium on rare corojo from four years ago.
I would really like to hear what some of the FOGs or those more experienced with the non ISOM punch cigars have to say.

That size 4 years ago was very problematic. I sent more than 3 dozen of them back to General. Get a 5'er, try them but don't buy the box.

They did indeed have "construction" problems. I am with (Smokeyballs), and that sound's nasty, but he is right. Go w/ the 5er. Tese are great w/ age. Love this Punch line. No "pun" intended. :)

Punch Rare Corojos are among my favorite smokes. I would go with a 5'er as $150/ a box seems a little high. I have no experience with this particular size, the rothschild are my preferred size and I've rarely had a burn or draw problem with them.
