Ah where else but in Arizona can you enjoy a smoke outside for 75 minutes during rain, thunder, & lightning

After reading Eins disappointing story with his share of my 98 Trini box split, I was hoping he got the box's only dud. Well not wishing him a bad experience, but more looking for a legit reason for these smokes to be bad.

A little before midnight, the wife and I decided to play some bones on the patio. I figured this would be my opportunity to take one of my 98s out of the humi and see for myself. Not sure if it was because these puppies are 7 years old, or because of the reboxing and traveling around the world took a little toll on them, but the foot was slightly coming apart so as far as it looked, 2 out 5 stars. Being the box split host, I figured it was only right for me to take the 4 worst sticks ;) The smell of this stick was devine, and after cutting and putting it into the fire, my first draw was heavenly! The perfect draw on this thing commanded a well deserved 5 out 5 stars :sign: Tons of smoke and flavor followed puff after puff.

The burn was nice and even until half way down until it started acting up a bit. I'm fairly certain after wipping Lisa's ass in the first game she put a hex on my smoke as it fizzled out :( BUT, a quick torch again and we were back in business. Everything went back to normal, my smoke was great and I was well on my way to winning my second game

Rain started coming down even harder but my best guess on the temp outside was still close to 65-70 degrees. The smell of the rain was almost as nice as the smell of this Trinidad, and as I slammed the winning domino down Ice Cube style a bright flash of lightning appeared and the streetlight in front of us went out. Shortly following the blackout in the street, loud thunder joined the party. "I wanna go inside now Robert" came from badly beaten honey (at the game, I didn't smack her or anything yet). How could I go inside, I still had quite a bit to go. Tired of playing bones, we decided on rummy. Rain was starting to come down harder, more frequent thunder and lightning but we stayed out anyway. Checked the clock. 65 minutes passed and I started to realize my smoke was almost finished. Feeling a bit partched I reached for my cherry lime-aid from Sonic. Slippery little thing jumped out of my grasp, fell on the table, opened up and spilled all over the cards, and the game was ruined. Good news though, the 98 was still the highlight of our evening.

So....after cleaning up the table and throwing the new deck of cards away, Lisa went in the kitchen and started sweeping. Don't know why she chose that particular moment to sweep, but whatever. Guess that's what a good squaw does. She was now calling it a night and I smoked the remainder of this puppy down to the nub. Definately a great smoke! One's in my pass, and any brother would be happy to take it.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

goes to show, you can't judge a book by its cover.

the book being the cigar or the scorpion? ???

Or neither...

perhaps a little clarification as I think I totally missed that one

The only Trinidad Fundadores that people seem to smoke are all from 1998... hrm... ;)

So than you ate the scorpion for a sacrafice. oops wrong forum :whistling:

I have yet to have a trini cuban or nc but they are on the list and this review bumps them up higher.
let me get this right you slammed the bone down and the lights went out and the lightning crashed man you got mojo. :D

Have you actually seen scorpions? They look like scary dudes and I've never seen one other than the zoo, but I think they are fairly wide spread.

I saw a little tiny cream colored one outside my front door when I first moved here in april 03. It was dead, but still nothing I'd wanna tangle with. About 5 miles up the road going towars the Superstition Mountains, they have tons of scorpions, tarantulas, rattlers, and other desert critters. A guy even sets up a little booth on the side of the road for "Desert Critter Removal" services. He's got tons of souvenirs made from his captures. Arizona people are kinda twisted :p

Scorpions are harmless in the Southwest. Just like a bee sting from what I've been told. There is one to look out for in the Southwest that is deadly which is the tree bark scorpion. They are probably around an inch long or so. The give away on this scorpion is that it can crawl on the wall. So, if you see a scorpion chillin on the wall that is about an inch long, RUN! If not, they are pretty harmless. I've run into plenty out hunting in the desert. We used to hunt for them, as well. We would take a black light out to the desert at night and turn over rocks. The scorpion would light up like the 4th of July.

What a relief your review was! Very nice read, too.

I look forward to my second one and if the laws of probability are on my side, it will turn out even better than yours.

Still don't know how such a dud can happen. I'll make that a new post.
