After the PC yesterday I could not wait to try the toro

These cigars are beautiful, like all the pepins I've come acoss they're near flawless, being cello wrapped they have less of the shipping and handling flaws of other pepins.

Trying to clear my pallette of the PC I clip and pre light draw the toro, similar flavor and smell as the PC, dark chocolate, espresso, leather, earth, with a light-medium draw.

Upon lighting it's definetly pepin, spice and flavor similar to a blue label almost black label in intensity. After the first inch it changed to an extremely velvety creamy and leathery with the hints of chocolate, espresso and earth.

The second 3rd relaxed from the spice and carried along nicely with an amazingly creamy mouth feel, with the same tasting hints from above. A very relaxing 3rd.

The third 3rd began to take on some power a buzz and some spice with floral hints all masked behind the creamy leather texture.

I must say that these are a lovely addition to pepin and 5 vegas lines. I'm having trouble finding a negative to them other than I wish I had more, and since they're 5 vegas, that shouldn't be a problem to get them somewhat cheap.

And I know the ashtray is filthy, but thats what happens when you protest cleaning the thing, but for some reason my girlfriends dad just loves smoking a JR alt. for days and ashing it like a cigarette, plus the everning winds makes a terrible mess.

Nice review mate.
I wondered what these cigars were like. I guess now I will have to get a couple to try.

I had the churchill today and it was pretty good. Not a great cigar, but IMO it is better than the regular 5 vegas line.

Thank you for the great review!

I was skeptical at first because CI's ad copy wouldn't just say they were a Pepin blend. They said made at a certain factory in Miami that has been producing some very popular cigars or some such drivel.

But the way the prices have held on auction shows the demand is remaining high for these.

Must be a good smoke!

Guys the CI 8 cigar sampler is very good for the price!

You get 2 of each size, and makes it a perfect buy if you want to share 4 cigars with a good friend.
