Ring Gauge: 50
Length: 50"
Filler: a blend of Nicaraguan and Honduran
Binder: Honduran
Wrapper/Color: Conneticut Shade. It's a nice golden hue that matches the golden band perfectly
I'm not usually into milder cigars. I generally prefer something that is bolder and more "in your face". So when I first acquired these in a sample pack with the 5 Vegas series A, I was a little hesitant to light one up. I guess CI was trying for a ying and yang deal on this one because the two cigars couldn't be any more opposite in taste. I’m glad they did though. The Vegas Gold cigars are a light goldish brown color with a large gold band. It all seemed a little kitschy to me, but the cigar had a nice feel and otherwise looked good so I can look past the band. The initial smell was of ester and wood. It was a nice change from the usual musty leather smell that most of my cigars posses. The cigar lit fine with a burst of nutty peppery flavors. A decent amount of smoke rolled off the end and the ash had a very light gray, almost silver, color to it. After just a little bit of smoking the pepper taste completely faded and a pleasant cream and caramel flavor developed. I noticed hints of honey and nuttiness but nothing that really stood out. The cigar burned pleasantly for a long time with hardly any ashing required. By the end of the cigar, the smoke pouring off the end had increased greatly and had a very pleasant smell to it. Living in the city, I smoke most of my cigars on the front steps and this is the only cigar I've smoked where people walking by have stopped to ask what that wonderful smelling cigar was. At only $3/cigar these are perfect for those early morning smokes when you really just want something to go with your coffee.
