After a wonderful dinner, in celebration of my mothers birthday, I decided to smoke this fine cigar.
I've had a couple before and when I get the chance to , ehhm, pursade someone to part with them....well, let's say I don't turn them down!
The seemingly box pressed robusto is a nice dark milk chocolate color. It's consistent in it's structure thru and thru.
Initial smell is rich tobacco....not dirty....more refined.
The head was clipped off cleanly, not to disturb the filler. The draw is perfect and the taste is of the chocolate I mentioned.
I almost don't want to light it.....but I do!
The initial draw is creamy - that taste of tobacco is everywhere in the smoke.
There is a ton of smoke yet the bunrn is smooth and even. The ash is dense. White/grey in appearance on the outter view....dark, near black in the 'rings'.
Upon inhaling the character of the cigar shows itself.....consistent and mature. Upon exhaling, a slight tingle at the nasal passage....yet, it's like exhaling 'air'...yet smoke billows. If I knew how to exhale thru my nose...I'm sure this would be even more pleasurable.
Just starting the middle third and it's the same as the first...interesting.
I'm not overhelmed with nicotine, yet. That's just fine. This cigar isn't about the buzz....but you know there's some in the cigar!
In comment about 'after taste' with cigars this doesn't seem to have any. My saliva builds up with the smoke, eventhough it's somewhat of a dry smoke....what a great sensation!
Half-way thru and the cigar hasn't changed.
I had to take the dog out - standing up was 'different'. I think the nicotine is kicking in!
While walking the dog, I smoked the cigar into it's last third. i proceeded to let the dog in and get an ice cold COKE!
Although the creaminess is there, it's about half of what it was. Now it's more of the tobacco.
With a couple inches remaining the cigar gets a little 'hot'. I can now taste what I think is tar. I could just be smoking it a little quickly at this point as I chase the HIGH!
All in all, the profile has changed little - I like that!
The after taste is nil and the draw has been perfect(consistent) with rich smoke and fine flavor.
What a blend.
Only near the end did I have to really 'double puff' or more to get the wrapper aglow.
I'd be interest to hear other reviews of this cigar!
