Hi everyone!

After a busy week and a nice relaxing 3-day weekend here I have finally got the time to sit down and post some serious reviewing. This week I am introducing a new format, since I really don't have the time to sit here and type out a lot of in-depth reviews.

Many of my reviews will be in the old format, but when I am pressed for time, reviewing a cigar that has been done a lot, or perhaps not that great of a cigar I will be doing this new format: Newbie Quick Takes. Which is just what it says, a brief overview and rating for the cigar being reviewed. This review itself being fairly long for a Quick Take, but considering the information to pass along to you the read...

Yesterday, I had the privielage of meeting Nick, one of cigar pass's own here. He came over to the house to smoke, b.s. and enjoy a good lunch. In a very generous move on his part he gifted me a nice ISOM: the Ramon Allores Corona.

Measuring 5" x 42 this cigar exhibited a light sweetness with peppermint flavoring, giving it for lack of a better term "light peppery sweetness". A mild cigar loaded with great flavor I would recommend this cigar as a before meal or morning cigar.

This cigar rated an 84.

Thanks for the smoke Nick and I look forward to our next meeting!

sam, the pleasure was definitely mine, i did enjoy lunch and especially the gifted short story, it is definitly one that will top my hunt list soon, also of the other two that you generously sent me home with, I had the fuente sungrown (double corona?) it definitely had a smooth character with little bite and some wonderfull pepper in the first inch or so. unfortunately, my attention deficeit dissorder took over and i couldn't sit still to really enjoy the last 3 inches and smoked them while walking around. I will be looking for some of these also, just in a little shorter variety soon. btw, i will let you know my take on the vsg as soon as i get to it, :D

Luckily for you Nick, the Fuente Sungrowns come in smaller varieties :p

I think you will like the VSG - just remember it's an after dinner type of smoke ;)

Awhile back I had my first Spellbound (the big sucker) and I started to smoke it before a dinner, thinking I was big enough to take it. I ended up having to eat some munchies while smoking it LOL, not that it was a big deal or anything - I enjoy eating while smoking on cigars but definately had me spinning there without a full meal on my stomach ;)

Catch ya later bud!
