I want to ask some general questions....to formulate a gameplan

1. Should we charge?
2. Should it be Catered?
3. A conference room in a Casino?
any other ideas?
 
...I'm not fussy. As long as this is during Feb / March 2006, I think I and Ms. B.B.S. will be in attendance. We were planning our usual Oct / Nov trip for that time of year anyway, so this rocks....!!!!.... :cool:

It'd be great to put faces with the names and share some smokes - hope it works out.

it would have to be late March..Nascar is in town that month..and everything is expensive then
 
Well ill be there from the 20th-24th so lets do it and i know in Casa Fuente thread someone else will be there the 17th-23rd so whatever. Lets do it.
 
I'm in... I cannot promise 100% I can make it, but as long as the dates are picked well enough in advance I can get the time off and tickets down. I can probably sell a Sin City trip to the wifey...

would this be a weekend I assume?

If it is to be catered, or in a conference room I think there is no option but to charge. I suppose it all depends on the number of attendees. If it's small enough we could probably find someones house to hold it at... :whistling:

But this sounds like some serious fun... and a chance to thaw out! :laugh:

I am so in.

My are not to make it too expensive. So members will come.

1 night dinner somewhere nice. thanretire to the lounge/bar areas to smoke cigars.

1 day at casa fuente to herf and drink and hang out. than enjoy the rest of the afternoon/night at casino's up and down the strip. and enjoy a nice lunch somewhere relaxing.. like the HD restaurant..margaritaville..gameworks...espnzone..

1 day maybe plan a poker tournament somewhere?

Im sure we can work out rates if there is enought interest at some of the hotels. We could book as a group.
Also what months are bst for ppl?

We would need to avoid.. march madness..nascar...and any other large conventions.

If you give us dates to play with I can check with the events/conventions calenders to pick ideal dates. The cheaper the better.


I am open for FEB MAR APR...shit im open all year when its Vegas..LOL!

also bring your significant others..if it will help sell the trip better..
i know most of us will be coming with them so might as well include them and make the most..LOL!!

I know I usually go to delmonico's one night for dinner it is a never miss..when Im in Vegas..LOL!!
 
After doing some checking...I priced buffet/dinner for a REALLY nice dinner anywhere from 30-40 dollars per person..this is if we chose to rent a banquet hall/convention space at a casino..they provide tables and chairs and service for that price too...if we have upwards of 50 people...we would need a space somewhere...and as long as it is after Nascar weekend the room rates will drop...I like March because it is usually about 85-90 that time of year..where in other places people are still thawing out. I checked there are no huge conventions that month (everything gets prepared for the Nascar race)

If we get only around 20 or so people. I will book us a room at a nice steakhouse (probably be able to get a good deal) for about the same amount of money (if not cheaper) per person...and then set up a poker tourney at my Palacial estate, I can rent some extra chairs and tables (dirt cheap..planned a recpetion here a few months ago)and maybe even get a open bar (not as expensive as you might think...oce again..done it before...lol

the other option is for me and Greg to fight in a steel Cage match over who gets to host the dang thing (if we used our house)...in that case, the cost drops heavily, the almighty Costco and Sams Club would do us well in the food department, and Lee's Discount Liquor (wherehouse sized booze store)would be where we could get libations cheap enough.

i went there once for a march madness and it was super packed..and pricey.

Just the Casinos are packed...the only weekend it is really bad is the first weekend (round of 64)

I will check and find out when the first round is....and we will move forward
 
OK - the wife tells me that our "window of opportunity" is the last week in February / first of March. We're planning a Vegas trip then and a CP herf would be beyond cool. Matty - you know the local schedule better than I so I offer that only as a suggestion for the dates. Not a gate for the event if I'm in the minority, but it sure would work out well for us.

Would be a really special trip to be able to hook up with this bunch then....:cool:

I would be up for it just about anytime. Only place I don't have to ask the wife twice about, she love that roulette :( At least I don't get any flak about cigar purchases

I would be able to come at any time. Only a 3 hr trip for me. I just don''t like driving up on Friday or back on Sunday. Could turn that 3 hr drive into a 6 hr one.
