I was gifted some of these for organizing a box split. This particular one had been resting at about 63% (beads were a little dry) when I plucked it out of the tupperdor.
The head flaked a bit when I sunk the punch cutter in. (UH OH!). Pre-light draw was pretty good.
Now let me preface this with a few things. I hadn't smoked a cigar in at least two weeks. I had a new roommate (I own a house and rent out a room. I had just decided to take on another boarder) moving in who was supposed to move in yesterday but couldn't make it. She was also running late today. I said "**** IT" and decided I was going to enjoy a nice cigar on the back patio. It was wonderful out (first night where you could sit out in just pants and sweats in forever) and I lit up this delicious Cuban
I lit it with very little ceremony: enough to get some big puffs of smoke and that's it.
Immediately I tasted a flavor that was very distinctive yet I couldn't put a name on it. I can only say roasty toasty. Anyways it was very distinctive, but the way cilantro is distinctive. Not strong like blow you away flavor, but definitely recognizable.
Anyways I just sat and smoked and stared at the stars. My neighbor came by with his kid and we chatted for a while. I spoke on the cel with a couple of people. Soon it was time to call it a night.
Well the cigar was awesome, definitley real, definitely a different nuance of the classic ISOM flavor. I can't believe I am starting to be able to distinguish!
Well not very descriptive I guess except it was really good. I never had a problem with having to re-light it, and the burn was fairly even, even though the light was not.
This was one of those cigars you just SMOKE. You don't sit there and analyze every detail. And that's exactly what I did, and what I will continue to do.
