So I got a humidor a little while back and I seasoned it and gawked at its spaciousness. Until I started filling it! I've got about 70 smokes in it now and its jam packed!! I've got a row, two deep in the bottom, and a row 3 deep on the top. I wish the bottom of the humidor would be one cigar deeper so that I could put a third stack on it. I've got 2 2oz heartfelt humiidit tubes in the bottom, and a couple smokes in sideways here and there.

And I'm full!! That's only half the capacity that the site claims the humi is good for. But its size is comparable to all the others. Am I doing something wrong?

FYI, the humi is GORGEOUS, just like in the pictures. And it holds temp and humidity well.

Nope, you're probably doing it right. You missed the fine print. "Holds approximately 150 cigars, YMMV"

Of course, this is under the assumption you smoke nothing larger than PC's/

Always go bigger then you think you'll need, this is the very reason.

They always use Petit Coronas when making those estimates.

*edit* And wow that thing is beautiful! put your go to sticks in it and buy a big cooler to hide the rest.

Go big or go home I have learned. I started out with a 150 and ended up with a 3000 by the end of the year. Now its close to full and gonna have to go to overflow coolers. ALWAYS go bigger.

That humi is sweet! But, I know, or I can imagine the pain you are going through. So IMHO, you have 2 options.

1. Get a cooler or 7. They work great, I have a 54qt here in Iraq, just got bombed with a 200+ cigar shipment from Smitty, and I have no worries, still have space to spare.
2. Get a cabinet from Bob at Aristocrat, this is quality workmanship, and a treasure worth passing down to your children. Cost some big bucks, but it is handmade to order.

I will do both before it is over. My 150 ct just arrived at the house, and after the wife gets it all set up, I will mail her some of my sticks that I have here with me, so they can age, and I will not be tempted to smoke them yet, and it lets her be part of this new lifestyle with me. Win / Win

You have to place them vertical in order to fit more in ;)

Supposedly, they base this on coronas. I have checked out that humi and was impressed. Wonderful Spanish Cedar odor and great seal! I think you hava good humi there - just not what you thought it would be.

Most guys store the bulk of their sticks in a coolerdor in spanish cedar boxes and use the humi to store smokes in the "line-up". This way most lay undisturbed until you need to replenish the humi from the coolerdor.

Nice humidor.
That size humidor is my next step in the cigar world. When that gets full I guess I will get a cooler.
