Ok guys, help a newbie out.... Here's the deal. Some of you have already seen my posting for the "smoking shack" in the humidor forum. In two weeks, I will be breaking in the shack, and it's a special day. My band will be playing a big show (around 12,000 people) and my bass player/best friend/fellow cigar lover, Davis, will be coming in from West Virginia to play the show and then help me break in the shack. (which should be done by then...I hope) Anyway, here's the question. I have around 100 bucks to buy some good smokes for the big evening. I am very excited about this room and want it broken in right, so if you were me, what smokes would you get on this budget? Any help would be appreciated!

For $100 I would do a Newbie Trade Sampler http://www.cigarpass.com/forumsipb/index.php?showtopic=5916&hl=
with one of the FOGs. You are assured of getting your moneys worth with well aged premium sticks.

No question there. Just got my nO0b sampler and it was a very pleasant surprise. The "FOG's" will hook you up with quality sticks. Highly recommended....and, you'll more than likely make a new friend or two along the path...

Hundred dollars is tough. How many guys do you want to provide cigars for?

Ditto.....If you are looking for 3-4 smokes.....Cohiba DC EL's are a good choice. If you are looking more along the lines of 8-12.....H. Upmann Mag46, PSD'4, Monte #2, Cohiba Siglo IV, Punch Punch, etc. work and still save you some money

What size cigar are you looking for? Corona Gorda, churchill, piramide, robusto, double corona???

He is hunting monti #2s, I know! Anyone gunna key him in?

Rob - Most ISOM talk is threw PM, for future reference...

LOL!!!! Actually, this post was about getting a variety of smokes! Not the #2's! I thought it would be cool to get a variety for when Davis was here. I read Eshaws newbie rules, I know not to talk about ISOM's or I would lose my life! I think I will do the newbie trade with a FOG that seems like a good idea.

Chateau Fuente SunGrown - $70

With the left over money, buy you some beer to go along w/ the smokes in your new shack.

If you dare go to cigar-bid you can alot of the time find an good box of gars for about 100 dollars. But unless you want to go to the poor house try to avoid it after you get a decent deal.

Just don't wany more fighting... it's not outlawed, just source talking is outlawed. I thought this was a search for the #2's you said you were hunting. Doesn't burns carry DCM? Is there any other great celebration smoke besides that? :sign:

As far as domestics go, I would suggest some Padron Anny Maduros, Ashton VSG's, Diamond Crown Maximus, Don Carlos and Davidoff Millenium Blend if your shop has any of those. :)

John, play close attention:

Threw is the past tense of throw

Write this word down and memorize it: Through

Repeat it again so it takes...through
