Not exactly true, Andrew. It's my understanding that the cigars were shipped directly from the collector. I could be wrong as I haven't discussed this with Tim directly. For the record, I agree with those who state that Tim was not directly responsible here. I hear Jon on his post, though...

Grey market vendors typically remove the barcode to protect their sources. Legitimate Habanos channels would be in a great deal of trouble if it was determined they were selling cigars to the grey market. But it happens.

First and last time I cook with the skin on. It turned out good, but it could have used the additional flavor that comes with more bark. Fantastic. I'm of the opinion that ECA box code Upmann's are some of the best cigars that were rolled in Cuba in 2002. I haven't had a bad one.
